EMproject89 is a company based in Vrnjačka Banja, Central Serbia, established in 2015. The company specializes in designing and producing advanced machinery for the corrugated cardboard industry. "What we have noticed in recent months is the resurgence of e-commerce. We saw e-commerce flourishing during the COVID period, and after COVID ended, we saw e-commerce dropping substantially. However, this trend of decline has stopped at some point, and e-commerce has resurged—not to its former glory, but we still have a significant number of customers involved in e-commerce. So what we have done is provide solutions in our machines specifically tailored to the needs of e-commerce customers. Specifically, we have introduced solutions that mitigate the need for die-cut boxes. We have applied solutions that allow customers to produce regular slotted boxes that can be used instead of die-cut boxes, like mailer boxes such as FEFCO 47 and similar... TEAMWORK AT BROHL WELLPAPPE: CREATING A UNIQUE FORMULA CAR FROM CORRUGATED BOARD This innovative project was brought to life by several apprentices working alongside designer Yll Gashi. The car was designed specifically for a partnership with Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG. The Formula car consists of hundreds of individual parts, meticulously assembled by the apprentices. Every detail was carefully crafted to ensure perfection. The final assembly took place at the ring°kartbahn at Nürburgring, providing a memorable highlight for all involved. This project exemplifies the collaborative spirit and high-quality training at Brohl Wellpappe GmbH & Co. KG. DS SMITH ENHANCES KUNHEIM FACILITY WITH €10 MILLION INVESTMENT “The inauguration of the BGM unit at our Kunheim facility enhances our ability to provide leading fibre-based packaging solutions. It aligns with our ‘Now & Next’ sustainability strategy, reaffirming our commitment to the circular economy by eliminating waste and pollution and extending the use of materials,” says Thibault Laumonier, President of DS Smith Packaging France. “We are proud to innovate in the sustainable packaging industry in France, combining industrial performance with a focus on carbon reduction and the environment.” The investment includes the installation of a state-of-the-art BGM Bahmüller and Göpfert Maschinen CL 20/55 casemaker, along with upgraded production line facilities. "We are from Kyiv. We understand that the world may be growing weary of our war. But right now, missiles are striking Kyiv. Our children are there, and, of course, we can’t stop worrying about them. Still, I must focus on the corrugated industry. I am a journalist and have been writing about corrugated board for 24 or 25 years, starting in the early 2000s. It’s unusual for our market, but I created the first corrugated board magazine in our region, covering 15 countries of the former Soviet Union, including Russia and Ukraine. The war has brought us to the global market. Now, we write not only about the corrugated industry in Eastern Europe but also worldwide. We began preparing this information in English and publishing it on our platform. We noticed that people needed and were interested in this information. In addition to English, we also publish in Ukrainian, Spanish, and Russian. After two and a half years, we now have 42,000 subscribers worldwide, including 13,600 on LinkedIn. MONDI COMPLETES €90 MILLION UPGRADE AT WARSAW PLANT “This investment has doubled the plant’s production capacity, making it the largest corrugated solutions plant in Poland and one of the biggest in Europe,” says Andrzej Archacki, Managing Director of Mondi Group Corrugated Solutions Poland. “Our customers rightly expect their business partners to be reliable, innovative, and agile – we are passionate about meeting their needs every day.” After the upgrade, the production capacity of the Mondi Mszczonów plant has reached 320 million square meters of products per year. This upgrade is part of Mondi’s broader €280 million investment in corrugated packaging operations across central and eastern Europe. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Yavne, Israel, Highcon develops innovative digital systems that transform traditional finishing processes into value-adding steps. Their technology is used for converting paper, labels, folding cartons, and micro-flute materials. "First of all, we present our Beam 2C. It has two options. You can go with nonstop or pallet to pallet. Right now we’re seeing a pallet to pallet version. Obviously, it uses the same core technology of creasing matrix. So you have the option to go with physical scoring and then laser cutting. What we have here today are samples from our customers. We have different types of samples. I want to share some innovations in packaging. These are Hexpand boxes produced by the BoxMaker. These hex bands offer two options: either you go with suspension packaging or retention packaging.
