Overview of Lviv's Participation in ReBuild Ukraine in Warsaw! 🌍 🏗️ At the fourth international exhibition and conference ReBuild Ukraine Construction & Energy in Warsaw, the Lviv City Council presented key investment projects aimed at the development of the city's infrastructure and supporting Ukrainians affected by Russian aggression. Andriy Pavliv, Head of the Investment and Projects Office, presented the city's priority project during the Marathon of Communities — the construction of the UNBROKEN Ukraine surgical building, which will provide high-quality treatment for military and civilian individuals injured by the war. 🏥 At the AID & DEVELOPMENT MEETUP, Inna Svystun, Director of the Department for Economic Development, presented a social housing project that the city is implementing in cooperation with the European Commission. 🏘️🤝 Among other important projects presented at ReBuild Ukraine were: a senior citizens' center, the construction of a tram line to improve transportation access to the Unbroken rehabilitation center, the building of a crematorium, and the development of Eco Hub projects, among others. 🚋♻️ The Lviv delegation also held a series of important meetings, including with representatives of the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Trade Department of the French Embassy in Ukraine – Business France, SwedFund, and Deloitte. For Lviv, this opens up new opportunities for collaboration as an active participant in reconstruction and the implementation of joint innovative projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents and visitors to the city. Under Secretary-General at UNDP Haoliang Xu made his first working visit to Lviv 📌The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the implemented projects together with the Lviv City Council within the framework of the UNBROKEN Ukraine Ecosystem and to determine priorities for the development of the next projects. In Lviv, Haoliang Xu inspected the Unbroken rehabilitation center, the Orthotics and Prosthetics Center, where a number of important projects have been implemented with UNDP funds: ▪️Center for relocated businesses 🏢; ▪️ Center for employment of people with disabilities, where training takes place for patients of the rehabilitation center in the specialty of barbering 💼✂️; ▪️Modern equipment for prosthetics: a robot for 3D printing of cultreceptors 🦾, scanners for a prosthetics workshop. ✅ The total amount of project financing is over 40 million hryvnias. ⚡️Thomas Kergall, Senior Technical Advisor for Health & Social Care at CEB - Council of Europe Development Bank, visited Lviv to review Unbroken projects that support IDPs, families with children, the elderly and people with disabilities 🌳🏥 At the meeting, Anton Kolomeytsev, Chief Architect of Lviv, and Andriy Pavliv, Head of the Investment and Projects Office, presented the project to build a Center for the Elderly within the framework of Unbroken. The project envisages the creation of a modern center modeled after a French gerontological center, near a park and the necessary infrastructure. The main goal is to socialize the elderly people who will live there. They also visited the UNBROKEN Ukraine National Rehabilitation Center. Thomas Kergall recognized it as the best in Europe 🌍✨ We remind you that Ukraine became the 43rd member country of the CEB in June 2023, and now the bank is actively working on projects to improve the living conditions of vulnerable groups and intends to support projects for the restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine. 🇩🇰🤝🇺🇦Invest in Lviv held a roundtable with the Danish Business Association to promote and attract foreign investors to Lviv 📌Lviv City Mayor, Andriy Sadovyy, delivered an opening speech, emphasizing the importance of cooperation with Danish cities and businesses, and expressed gratitude for Denmark's support to Lviv and Ukraine. ✍️ The key event of the roundtable was the signing of a new memorandum of cooperation between the Lviv City Council and the Danish Business Association. Under this memorandum, the First Deputy Mayor – Deputy Mayor for Economic Development, Andriy Moskalenko, and the Founder and President of DBA, Lars Vestbjerg, agreed to promote the attraction of foreign investments to the Lviv community and to consider proposals from foreign investors to improve business conditions in Lviv. 📈 Additionally, the Head of the Investment and Projects Office (Invest in Lviv), Andriy Pavliv, presented current investment opportunities in Lviv, highlighting priority and strategic projects to Danish companies. 📌 Cooperation between the DBA and the Lviv City Council began in 2010 with the signing of the first Memorandum of Cooperation. The Investment and Projects Office (Invest in Lviv) continues this work with the DBA today. ⚡️Six Czech companies from the water management sector visited Lviv as part of the continuing cooperation between CzechTrade and Invest in Lviv During the meeting with the Czech companies, Andriy Pavliv, Head of Investment and Projects Office (Invest in Lviv), together with Dmytro Vankovych, Director of Lvivvodokanal Municipal Company, presented investment opportunities and projects for cooperation in the water supply and sewerage sector. 💧The Czech delegation was represented by the Deputy Consul of the Czech Republic in Lviv, representatives of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, the government trade support agency CzechTrade and six Czech companies - Boson Distribution SE, IPR Aqua s.r.o. , Vodní zdroje Ekomonitor, Stillea, StemCon a.s., Time & Space Group - who spoke about their activities and range of services in the water sector. Czech companies are ready to cooperate with local businesses and authorities to implement joint projects. ✅The delegation also visited water treatment facilities in Lviv, the construction of a waste recycling plant, and places affected by a missile drone attack on the city. It should be noted that the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade has created the Business Club Ukraine (BKUA) platform to attract Czech businesses to Ukrainian reconstruction projects. ⚡️The #TakeCareAboutBuilding campaign continues During this time, more than 35 organizations, foundations, enterprises and foreign partner cities volunteered to help Lviv in the reconstruction of damaged buildings. Among them: ✅ sister city of Freiburg – 100 000 euros (for the reconstruction of Lyceum No. 5); ✅ Sean Penn's charity fund in Ukraine CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) - 100 000 dollars; ✅ Carlsberg Group – 50 000 euros; ✅ OKKO – 15 000 000 hryvnias; ✅ Kormotech Global and Enzym Group - 5 000 000 hryvnias; ✅ Lviv IT Cluster and association member companies (Intellias, Linkup Studio, Sombra, PLVision, Impressit, Forbytes, Relevant Software, Qubstudio) - 4 000 000 hryvnias; ✅Meest Group - 2 000 000 hryvnias. ‼️ It is important that the city does not announce a fee, but invites to take a specific house under its care and restore it. We will remind that during the massive attack on Lviv last week, russia damaged 189 buildings - housing, schools, communal and private institutions. LVIV NEEDS YOUR HELP Yesterday, on September 4th, 2024, Lviv was devastated by a russian missile and drone attack. 7 people were killed. 3 children. 64 people were injured. 8 children. 188 homes were damaged. 2 schools and 2 medical institutions do not work today because there is no safe space for people. 💔 Our colleague Yaryna, who worked as a programme manager for the project Lviv Youth Capital 2025, was tragically killed along with her mother and 2 sisters.   The Lviv City Council is increasing the reserve fund to address this tragedy, but the scale of the devastation is extensive, and we require more assistance.
