The university in Ukraine offers undergraduate and graduate degree opportunities in architecture and urbanism. The School meets European standards in architectural training and implements the latest educational approaches in Ukraine. The School meets European standards in architectural training and implements the latest educational approaches in Ukraine. The BA and MA degree programmes in 191 “Architecture and Urban Planning” are licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. In autumn 2022, the BA degree programme was successfully accredited. Founded in 2017 to respond to the social transformations and the need to reinvent Ukrainian cities and to reform national higher education, the School has set the goal to equip its students with globally-informed and locally-relevant knowledge to improve the quality of urban life. It uses the internationally-recognised format of Studio training and collaborates with the leading architectural schools of Europe and visiting professionals to maintain high standards in education and provide competitive qualifications for its graduates. The KhSA introduces the young generation to the world of architecture through interaction with the professional communities of its supporters and partners, who make important contributions to the discourse focusing on Ukraine’s urban environment.

    We invite teachers and PhD students in architecture and heritage conservation to apply for a comprehensive training program on teaching methodologies and practical approaches to heritage conservation. The program offers a unique opportunity to learn from leading Ukrainian and international experts, develop practical skills, and integrate conservation into educational programs. The course is free of charge, with travel and accommodation expenses covered by the organizers. The program combines online sessions with two intensive one-week in-person sessions in Lviv (in February and June, 2025). The participants will engage in practical exercises on scanning, deformation monitoring, as well as live consultations, brainstorming, communication and exchange of experience. The number of places is limited, so don’t miss your chance to join! Course start date: January 27 Duration: 40-55 hours of contact training (face-to-face and online sessions), 100 hours of independent work. Language: Ukrainian and English.     🔹As part of the project “Architectural Heritage Preservation in War Times: The Ukrainian Model” project, the 2nd webinar on the preservation of cultural heritage in Ukraine was held! The topic of the webinar was “Community-Led Digital Documentation of Ukrainian Heritage: 3D Methods and Practice”. The webinar was held with the participation of Kasey Hadick, Director of Programs and Development at CyArk, and Dr. Simon Radchenko, researcher at the Center for Cultural Heritage. Simon Radchenko, a researcher at the University of Stavanger, Norway, and co-founder of the NGO ArchaÏc. We are sharing the recording of the event for those who were unable to join or wish to listen to the webinar again.     Attention to all students and architects of Ukraine - the Building Back Better workshop is back! In January 2025, a two-week international workshop will start, bringing together students from all over Ukraine and Europe to work together in parallel with international experts in design studios in Lviv and Warsaw. This year's workshop will focus on Odesa and will bring together a powerful international community to develop proposals that will be featured as part of an exhibition in Kyiv and the French Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2025! This workshop is a pilot version of the new KhSA Master's program and your opportunity to test drive the program. In addition, if you are planning to enroll in the MA, participation in the workshop will give you a 15% discount on tuition. The first workshop already took place last winter, where 30 participants in Lviv and 30 participants in Warsaw worked on researching the city of Dnipro at 4 scales: river, city, district, and home. The workshop ended with an exhibition that later traveled to Kyiv. Participation in the workshop is free thanks to our supporters. A limited number of travel stipends are available for selected applicants from outside Lviv. The number of places is limited! We look forward to sharing more details with you soon.     The Kharkiv School of Architecture is joining the testing of recommendations for the holistic renovation of Soviet mass housing developed by Lithuanian partners as part of the international project U-RE-HERIT. This semester, as part of the elective course “Neighborhood Theory and Its (Un)Death,” students will study a selected residential neighborhood and reflect on the validity of the proposed recommendations for its renovation, and in the spring semester, 4th year students will develop experimental projects of multi-family housing integrated into the structure of existing neighborhoods, testing the developed recommendations in practice. This initiative is part of the broader mission of the School of Architecture to rethink architectural heritage and develop modern educational programs for a critical approach to its preservation. Architects for Heritage in Ukraine: Recreating Identity and Memory” UREHERIT is co-funded by the European Union's Creative Europe program.

    Kharkiv School of Architecture, together with The Heritage Management Organization (HERITΛGE) and Skeiron, is pleased to announce a new training course for teachers and PhD students as part of the two-year project "Preserving Architectural Heritage in Wartime: The Ukrainian Model." Over the next five months, this course will bring educators and emerging researchers together to explore essential skills for protecting, documenting, and conserving Ukraine's architectural heritage, especially during and after the war. Participants will dive into topics like 3D documentation, heritage analysis, conservation planning, and much more, guided by top experts in the field, that will allow participants to develop and implement relevant courses in the programs of their higher education institutions. We’re thrilled to share this knowledge with those who will pass it on to the next generation of architects and conservationists. He holds master’s degrees in International Relations and Project Development.     Kharkiv School of Architecture, with the cooperation and support of Aalto University, School of Engineering, UN-Habitat Urban Lab Ukraine, New housing policy NGO, and AESOP Transactions, hosted the symposium Rebuilding a place to call home: The future of spatial planning in Ukraine on November 1st and 2nd.
