Two days of the workshop have passed, filled with insightful discussions and collaborative efforts, with progress already beginning to emerge. Yesterday, Amanda Reynolds from AR Urbanism shared insights on the Mayflower Masterplan in Southampton, sparking inspiring conversations on key aspects of our reconstruction research in Odesa. When addressing the issue of recovery, it is imperative to consider both short-term and immediate needs and challenges as well as longer-term strategies and interventions. We explored the role of developing new sustainable, mixed-use neighbourhoods and discussed the critical importance of integrating greenery into recovery efforts to create a greener, fairer, and healthier city. Connecting the historic core with the sea and reimagining the port’s role in Odesa’s future will be important on many levels. 84ha Mayflower Masterplan provided a relevant example of the potential opportunities that could be realised. This event underscored the importance of collaborative knowledge-sharing across scales, generating strategies for a resilient and inclusive future. Thank you to all our friends and collaborators from diverse fields for joining us in these important conversations, Kharkiv School of Architecture , and Building Back Better Team. #BuildingBackBetter #OdesaReconstruction #UrbanRecovery #SustainableCities #CitizenRights #UrbanGreenery #HistoricPreservation #CoastalCities #PortCities #UrbanPlanning #NeighbourhoodDesign #KnowledgeExchange #UN-Habitat#FutureCities #ARUrbanism #ResilientFutures
