This rendition of a famous Christmas poem is written by Anhelina Medvedieva for her mother from Pokrovsk. Her hometown is constantly under russian attack — like many other🇺🇦cities, since 2022. It wasn’t the night before #Christmas when russia invaded Ukraine, but from that moment on, russia has tainted every holiday with relentless bombings, trying to break our spirit. “Keep your eyes on Ukraine” might be the most important thing we can ask you for this Christmas.

Our ambassador, historian Timothy Snyder, recorded a special message for UNITED24 donors. It’s filled with heartfelt words of gratitude for all the support they have shown this year. Ukrainians woke up to russian shelling on Christmas morning. Kyiv residents are sheltering in the metro during air raid alerts, some even trying to catch some sleep. This is the reality of life in a country enduring a full-scale war. For russia, holidays mean nothing as they continue to terrorize civilians every single day.

During the Antarctic expedition, ‘Gerda' had the chance to meet American astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. The servicewoman admitted she was a fan of his work. What an incredible meeting! We're genuinely thrilled to hear such wonderful news from Mariia and Valeriia. We hope there are even more pleasant surprises ahead!

Valeriia ‘Nava’ Subotina's dream inspires her brothers-in-arms. During the siege of Mariupol, ‘Nava’ wrote a letter to Ukrainian polar researchers, expressing her deep desire to visit Antarctica. And now, this dream is finally coming true! The Antarctic expedition Space2Sea by FUTURE of SPACE is underway, with Valeriia embarking on the journey alongside her comrade-in-arms ‘Herda’ and UNITED24 ambassador Scott Kelly. "This has become a symbol and a source of motivation to my friends from the military. A dream of this magnitude is coming true, yet it still feels surreal. People are writing to me, saying it inspires them. Everyone is starting to dream and believe in bigger things."

A 29th bridge has been restored thanks to contributions from UNITED24's regular partner, AWT Bavaria. The bridge over the Inhulets River in Bashtan district, Mykolaiv Oblast, was destroyed by russian troops in November 2022.
