Since we started Ukraine2Power, I’ve become more open to meeting new people and sharing what we do. We’re open to like-minded people who want to help keep Ukraine’s energy going and bring back the light after all the destruction from russian forces. That’s why I was so happy to meet Natascha Heydorn over a warm coffee and a really nice chat. ☕ It just clicked— that's the feeling when you meet “your” kind of people. Later, Natascha wrote me a message that honestly made my day: 📝 “Our family always donates at the end of the year, and we want to support Ukraine2Power.” Private donations like this are the most genuine “thank you” for what we do, and they always mean so much 🥹 Thanks to Natascha Heydorn and Dennis Heydorn, we’ll install battery storage in a school. This means: ✨ Light in classrooms and shelters, even when the power’s out  🍲 Hot meals for the kids  🌱 No more noisy diesel generators—cleaner, quieter, and less stressful for teachers And I’ll visit this school and bring greetings from Natascha and Dennys to the kids and teachers. 👋🏫 This support is about people standing with us and believing in what we do. Thank you, Natascha Heydorn and Dennis Heydorn, for making a difference with us!

  • #newyearsresolution2025 🎄 🚆 With the start of the full-scale invasion, it became essential to transport huge number of seriously #wounded patients from hospitals in the frontline regions to the rear ones by train. The first medical train car was created in early March 2022. Railroad workers and medics re-equipped the first car in 4 days. Around 70 train cars are involved in medical #evacuation in Ukraine right now, some of these are the intensive care for the seriously injured. All medical equipment in train cars is powered by diesel generators, with fuel being transported in the same wagons for this purpose. However, this method of powering medical equipment poses inherent risks, as it is highly sensitive to voltage fluctuations. Such fluctuations can result in equipment failure or breakdown, leading to critical situations for both medical staff and patients. Additionally, diesel generators produce significant noise and soot emissions. These emissions pose life-threatening hazards and can be detrimental to the health of both the wounded and medical staff. 🚝⚡️Together with АТ "Укрзалізниця", a state-owned company administering railway infrastructure and rail transport in Ukraine, Ukraine2Power is working on #modernisation of hospitals on wheels. We aim to retrofit train cars with modern #power #equipment to ensure the train's autonomous operation, even when stationary or moving at low speeds that render the railcar's power grid ineffective. This involves installing modern lithium batteries and inverters to deliver high-quality electricity to medical equipment. ☀️ Help the wounded to get medical care in time: https://lnkd.in/dUt7jtKE All donations from Germany are tax deductible. #medicaltraincar #hospitalsonwheels #lithiumbatteries #energysecurity #renewableenergy #emergencyhelp

  • #newyearsresolution2025 🎄 Russia's constant attacks on the Ukrainian #energy system have caused serious damage, especially to #generation facilities. That is why distributed generation is an alternative. This approach makes the power system more #resilient to attacks, energy #independent and contributes to the development of the local economy. Distributed generation should become an important tool for ensuring Ukraine's energy security. ⚡️ In 2025 Ukraine2Power plans to install a pilot hybrid solar power plant for the surgery building of Rozhnyativ multidisciplinary hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Over 5000 patients are treated there yearly. Ivano-Frankivsk region, where Rozhnyativ is located, is also affected by regular drone attacks and power outages. However, a decisive advantage of the region is its geographical location. Rozhniatyv is around 1,200 kilometres from the front line. This distance offers a high degree of security for the installation of a solar system. ☀️ Bring light to a hospital in Ukraine:   https://lnkd.in/dUt7jtKE All donations from Germany are tax deductible. #distributedgeneration #solarpowerplant #energysystem #energysecurity #renewableenergy #emergencyhelp

#newyearsresolution2025 🎄 Our main goal is to ensure that life in Ukraine can continue uninterrupted, even during power outages. That’s why we provide #battery storage systems to #hospitals, #schools, and #kindergartens. ⚡️ Constant Russian attacks target Ukrainian energy system which leads to hours-long #blackouts along the whole country. Ukraine2Power tackles energy insecurity as well as contributes to the expansion of renewable energy in Ukraine. 🔋 The first mobile battery storage units were installed as a pilot project in the Khmelnytsky region in December 2022. Since then, almost 100 facilities countrywide have been supplied with mobile battery systems. Our NGO was founded in #Ukraine in order to stay close to municipalities, to accompany our need cases during the whole cycle. We elaborated a questionnaire to ask them about their needs and how we can further help. We want to adapt to the needs of our recipients. Our approach is to make emergency help better. According to the questionnaire, we can see that sometimes our mobile systems are not sufficient in some schools. Therefore, we will transfer them to the East of Ukraine or to stabilisation points, field hospitals or repair teams, where mobility is extremely important. Next year we will install more powerful stationary batteries in the facilities away from the front line so that the utilities could have electricity within 4/5 hours during power cuts. We would like to combine them with solar power plants where needed, which is our second project. ☀️ Help us to support Ukrainian people to stay with light: https://lnkd.in/dUt7jtKE All donations from Germany are tax deductible. #energysecurity #renewableenergy #mobilebatteries #stationarybatteries #solarpowerplants #emergencyhelp

  • In the #Khmelnytsky region, more than 6,000 objects were destroyed or damaged by the war. Almost a third are private houses, as well as apartment buildings, 14 medical facilities, 20 educational institutions, etc. In Autumn 2022, massive rocket #attacks took place across Ukraine, including in the Khmelnytsky region. A #substation in the regional center was #damaged by three rockets, causing power and water supply disruptions in the city for over two days. ⚡️ Khmelnytsky region, located in western Ukraine, was the first region where Ukraine2Power sent our mobile power islands to. Our storage and team were in the region, making it a practical choice for our #PilotProject. We wanted to test the systems and ensure medical staff could properly use it. The need for these systems there surprised us. Though it’s far away from the frontline, it is still constantly suffering from #bombardments and power shortages. 💭 “Since autumn we have started experiencing frequent power cuts. The generators we had were not enough. We asked various charities for generators […]. The kitchen, electric stoves, X-ray machines - all the equipment needs #power. We were expecting the worst scenario, but thanks to this uninterruptible power supply, our life became a little calmer, because when the power is cut off at night, it provides us with power: concentrators work, nebulisers work, and we can cook baby formula for the kids, and heat the water.” Inna Dermanska, Director of N. S. Govorun Multidisciplinary Hospital of Polonne 🎥 Ukraine2Power delivered 9 mobile charging stations the Khmelnytsky region. ⚡️ Facing another massive attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure Ukraine Facility Platform, Zentrum Liberale Moderne & Ukraine2Power organised a discussion on the unlocking investment in energy projects in Ukraine. The Collaborative Effort Toolkit developed by experts from the Ukraine Facility Platform (UAFP), OpenDoorUkraine.NL and the European research center TNO as a framework to accelerate effective collaboration was presented and discussed by the participants in Berlin. 💡 The core idea is to find an algorithm for collaboration between private businesses, local communities, and international financial institutions (IFIs) to develop and implement new energy generation solutions tailored to the needs of communities. Nataliia Fiebrig, co-founder and director of #Ukraine2Power, moderated the discussion and emphasised that the approach to the emergency help in the third year of the full-scale invasion has to be changed. Ukraine2Power was founded in Ukraine in order to stay close to municipalities, to stay with our need cases. We elaborated a questionnaire to ask them what they need and how it helps. If what we deliver doesn’t help, we want to adapt. Our approach is to make emergency help better. That’s why we are stepping in with delivering and installing bigger stationary battery solutions so that the utilities could have electricity within 4/5 hours during power cuts. Ukraine2Power supports the concept presented in the toolkit and we are ready to become one of the bridges in its implementation as we are convinced that we can rebuild our country only by involving #private #investments. • The German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), AHK Ukraine - German-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations (Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft) hosted the 7th German-Ukrainian Business Forum in Berlin. Nataliia Fiebrig, co-founder and director of Ukraine2Power, & Dr. Liudmyla Kvirenko, head of communications, attended the event under the motto "Stronger together. Securing the future", where German and Ukrainian company representatives were discussing the opportunities for bilateral cooperation. The focus of the event was on economic resilience, energy supply and potential in the defense industry. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal emphasised that Ukraine is a field of great #opportunities for Germany & the EU and presented the strategic benefits of Ukraine, among which is energy sector. 💭 “After the war, Ukraine has every opportunity to become a major #EnergyHub. We have a huge potential to develop nuclear generation and renewable energy sources, which will help the EU to get rid of its dependence on Russian hydrocarbons.” Denys Shmyhal German Chancellor Scholz underlined that Germany will continue to #support Ukraine - with financial resources, weapons and aid supplies. 💭 “Ukraine will get through this winter - just as it did the last few winters. We are supporting them in this endeavour. The German government is currently providing 70 million euros for smaller combined heat and power plants, boilers, generators and solar systems. German industry is also involved with more than 8,000 deliveries of relief supplies such as transformers so that production can continue despite the destruction caused by the Russian attacks.” ⚡️ During the panel discussion on Ukrainian energy system German Galushchenko, Minister of Energy of Ukraine, informed that over 10 GW of available capacity was lost due to Russian attacks since 2022, ~18 GW of generation capacities are currently occupied. He stressed the urgent need for new generating capacities and substantial #investments to the energy sector in Ukraine. 💭 “We see today that #renewables is really not only about ecology, not only about the green transition. That’s also very closely connected to the security of supply. And that is then the issue of national security.” German Galushchenko 👏 We are grateful to the organisers for such a needed Forum as it is extremely important for reconstruction of Ukraine. #Ukraine2Power is especially interested in reconstructing in energy sphere which requires not only state, but particularly private investments from Germany. As a NGO, we are providing complex and sustainable solutions for different cases right now. It’s completely clear that during the third year of a full-scale invasion just bringing equipment to Ukraine is not an efficient solution. We accompany all our need cases during the whole cycle and want to develop together with them complex solutions for energy security.

I was glad to share insights on how to prepare for the winter on TV channel 1+1. Key steps for residents of apartment and private houses include energy efficiency, energy saving, and the of energy self-generation and storage systems. The recipe is simple: use energy more efficiently and, if possible, produce it yourself. This will reduce dependence on external factors. Installing renewable energy sources, such as solar panels, will not only enhance energy independence but also help save on utility bills by reducing energy consumption. As for energy efficiency and energy saving measures, basic actions like replacing incandescent lamps with energy-efficient ones, using spot lighting, and prioritizing devices with energy efficiency ratings of A+ and A, can make a significant difference. Effective energy use and decentralized energy production are not only cost-effective but also crucial for achieving the country's energy independence.
