An innovative approach combines multiple technology stacks to provide fully autonomous UAV operation in challenging circumstances. They can be classified based on their function, the type of data they collect, and the technologies they use. Here are some of them: ➜ Optical and Imaging Sensors capture visual data and are the most commonly used in UAVs. ➜ Radar Systems use radio waves to detect objects and map terrains. ➜ LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) emits laser pulses to measure distances, creating highly accurate 3D maps of the environment ➜ Acoustic Sensors detect sound waves and vibrations, which can be used to identify specific events or objects. ➜ Magnetometers measure magnetic fields to detect metal objects or anomalies. ➜ Communications and Signal Sensors are used for electronic intelligence (ELINT) and signal intelligence (SIGINT).
