I am truly honored to have had the opportunity to engage with farmers in Malaba, Uganda. The dialogue with over 100 smallholder farmers has been incredibly insightful, highlighting their challenges and the innovative solutions they are eager to embrace. These conversations reinforce our mission to bridge the agricultural productivity gap through technology and sustainable practices. Additionally, I am deeply grateful to have been selected as one of The Tony Elumelu Foundation participants in the #IYBA #WE4A program and to have been awarded seed capital. This recognition not only validates the vision of Boresha Mavuno AgriTech but also empowers us to accelerate our impact, helping farmers access climate-smart solutions, agro-processing & value addition and waste-to-value solutions. We are working toward a more resilient, sustainable, and prosperous agricultural sector for Africa. #farmerengagement #farmerdialogue #climatesmartagriculture #agroprocessing #valueaddition #wastetovalue #farmers

As part of our visibility and stakeholder engagement, we connected with a farming community today (Saturday 22nd February) in Malaba, Uganda. This was a significant step in ensuring that our solutions are built for farmers, by farmers. The engagement was supported by the seed funding we received from The Tony Elumelu Foundation through the #IYBA #WE4A Program. 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓-𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 Women play a vital role in agriculture but often face barriers to accessing resources, training, and markets. As part of our commitment to gender inclusivity, we first engaged female farmers to understand their challenges and identify opportunities that can enhance their agricultural productivity and financial empowerment. Their insights are critical in shaping sustainable, climate-smart, and value-added agricultural solutions. 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒔 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑭𝒂𝒄𝒆. 𝑫𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒖𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔, 𝒔𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒌𝒆𝒚 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒔 𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒅: 1. Market Access Issues: Farmers struggle to find direct buyers, leading to reliance on middlemen. 2. Post-Harvest Losses: Poor storage and transportation systems cause significant food losses. 3. Limited Access to Financing: Many farmers lack resources to invest in better inputs and mechanization. 4. Climate Change Effects: Unpredictable weather patterns impact yields. 5. Need for Knowledge & Training: Farmers require guidance on climate-smart agriculture, agroprocessing, and waste-to-value solutions. 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑽𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏: 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓-𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏, 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒕-𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 At Boresha Mavuno AgriTech, we are co-creating solutions with farmers to ensure their effectiveness. Our upcoming digital platform, agroprocessing, and waste-to-value solutions will address these challenges through climate-smart agriculture solutions, agro-processing & value addition, waste-to-value solutions, and financial & market access solutions. We are strengthening relationships with key stakeholders in agriculture. 3. Gender inclusion is prioritized by addressing the unique challenges faced by female farmers. 4. We are refining our solutions based on real farmer needs, not assumptions. 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒓: 𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔, 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎 𝒂𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒔𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒔.
