In its latest update on the counterfeit cash incident at its Mbale Branch, PostBank Uganda Ltd has told stakeholders that initial investigations point to collusion by some of the bank's custodians of cash at the Mbale branch, who have since been arrested. The responsible staff have also been suspended pending the conclusion of the investigation. "This is an isolated incident, and we assure you that all transactions are safe as the bank has in place all the required resources and technology to detect counterfeit, just like it was in this case, where we detected this internally before any customer could be impacted," the bank said in its latest statement. In this article, PDG Emmanuel Katongole sheds more light on the work of the Centre and what Rotary is doing to support the Centre's push for peace as the initial stage for sustainable progress. Ahead of the 4th edition of The Annual Peace Concert, which takes place on January 10th, 2025 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, PDG Katongole also explains the role of the concert in furthering the Centre's efforts to bring about peace in the Great Lakes region and why it is a must-attend.
