On November 28, 2024, Katalemwa Cheshire Home proudly celebrated Cerebral Palsy Day in Kamuli District. This meaningful event was dedicated to supporting families and empowering children with cerebral palsy. Over 30 assistive devices including CP Chairs, and standing frames among others were distributed to parents, fostering greater mobility and independence for their children. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Enablement Foundation, our valued strategic partner. Together, we remain committed to our vision of "A world where people with disabilities live dignified and productive lives." It is with deep sorrow that Katalemwa Cheshire Home (KCH) announces the passing of our beloved staff member, Mr. Fred Sserunkuuma. Mr. Fred has been an integral part of our orthopedic workshop, serving as a carpenter and making significant contributions to the development of assistive technology for people with disabilities. His dedication and craftsmanship have made a lasting impact, and his absence will be deeply felt by the entire KCH community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. May the Almighty comfort you all during this difficult time.

*Katalemwa Cheshire Home at the 7th Community Based Rehabilitation Community Based Inclusive Development Africa Conference 2024!* For years, Katalemwa Cheshire Home has been a key player in advancing Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) and Inclusive Development (CBID) in Uganda. Through our programs, we’ve empowered children with disabilities by providing accessible healthcare, rehabilitation, education, and livelihood opportunities within their communities. Our focus aligns with creating an inclusive society where all people, regardless of ability, can thrive. At the 3-day, 7th CBR/CBID Africa Conference, our representatives are sharing these experiences while learning from others across Africa. Together, we are discussing health, education, advocacy, and accessibility policies to ensure that persons with disabilities live with dignity and inclusion. This work is central to KCH’s mission of enabling children with disabilities to reach their full potential.
