One day, every rural Ugandan will access quality healthcare. We launch health centers in the most remote areas.
About us
In Uganda, 10 million rural citizens live in a healthcare 'black hole', with no quality primary care facilities within a 5 km radius. When people get sick they either wait and hope they get better or spend a crippling amount of money to reach a distant health facility. At One Day Health we set up lean healthcare centers equipped with exceptionally trained nurses and a suite of diagnostic devices and drugs to treat 90% of the local disease burden that offers affordable, high-quality care to remote, vulnerable populations in Northern Uganda.

I’ve never been more proud than to stand next to my wonderful friend Emma as he shared his personal struggle to provide healthcare in remote rural areas and why our OneDay Health model has so much to offer the future of rural healthcare. I struggled to keep tears in check! We’re so proud to share our story of how OneDay Health has grown from a passion and idea to 50 health centers across Uganda treating 300,000 patients. We can't appreciate the 100x Impact Accelerator team enough for selecting, supporting and accelerating us over the last 6 months. You’ve helped OneDay Health land on a strategy and platform where we're ready to scale healthcare to those who need it the most, faster than ever before. Both in Uganda and for the first time to other countries as well. Thanks so much Carl, Nell, Shanzeh, Kristina, Stephan Chambers, Fan, Aggrey, Georgia, Kayleigh And a special thanks to our incredible mentor Chesca Colloredo-Mansfeld and our 100x brothers and sisters who have taught us so much about both how to dream big and build a resilient organisation Intelehealth, CHANCEN International, Wysa, ImpulsoGov, RightWalk Foundation, Tarjimly, Reap Benefit, The SPPG, Peepul If you're keen for a dose of pre-christmas inspiration, check out our pitch – I promise it’s worth the 5 minutes ;).

🌟 Relive the moments from this year’s 100x Summit Day! 🎥 A few weeks ago, we united changemakers, innovators, and impact-first funders at Summit Day, hosted in The Marshall Building, the home of 100x at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). It was an incredible celebration of our cohort's innovative solutions to global challenges. On the 20th of November, 100x Impact Accelerator hosted its second ever Summit Day - and what an event it was! 11 awe-inspiring and dedicated teams presenting their unique and vital solutions and interventions to a crowd of 200 impact leaders hosted here at the Marshall Institute at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) 💯 Working for 100x means I get to work with focused, crafty, impressive people and organisations globally, solving some of the world’s most pressing and complicated social and environmental issues. But the real praxis, the crux of what they do, is what happens on the ground, at health centres, on waste management sites, in local and regional public offices, and in the class rooms. Throughout our 3-month programme I get to learn a lot about what is only a fraction of what these organisations do in their day-to-day work. I am grateful to be able to listen and learn from you all. 7 years ago through serendipity or providence I met the amazing Pranav Sridhar at the first UNLEASH innovation lab. By the end of the lab we were convinced we just might have a way to solve the remote healthcare problem in Uganda. With Emmanuel Ochola we got to work and through our scalable healthcare architecture 4 OneDay Health centers became 10, then 20, now 47. We look forward to our 50th OneDay Health center this year and another step towards our vision that OneDay, every Sub-Saharan African will have access to quality healthcare. For the first time Pranav got to visit Uganda and meet the lifeblood of OneDay Health - our incredible nurses. Yesterday morning we visited the effervescent Juliet in Nyapea. While we were there a 7 month old came in with malaria and a young man who had a terribly infected leg after receiving poor care at a local drug shop. In Juliet's capable hands they'll get better fast. I'm so grateful for our whole OneDay Health team, from our incredible nurses to board members like Pranav who volunteer so much time and energy. We were privileged to see a microcosm of the live giving work our nurses do every day, all around Uganda.

OneDay Health nurses live and work in remote rural communities. Because of this, getting together as a team isn’t an easy thing to organise! So it was great to see all the smiling faces at this recent combined hub meeting, where nurses enjoyed learning new skills and sharing experiences.

Community Engagement is an essential part of the success and self-sustainability of OneDay Health clinics. Here, Elec Alfred, hub manager for Soroti, has been meeting with church leaders in the Awoja OneDay clinic community. OneDay Health is grateful that managers are committed to visiting these outlying clinics, often travelling for many hours on uncomfortable transport to get there! To help with transport costs for these visits you can donate at www.onedayhealth.org #oneday #onedayhealth #ugandahealth #sdg3 #remotehealthcare #nursepractioners #healthcareblackholes

Nurse Solomon works in a remote OneDay Health centre in Wao, Uganda. OneDay Health offers affordable, accessible, high quality healthcare to those who would otherwise have no good options. Regular visits from managers ensure nurse practitioners are supported. Regular auditing ensures healthcare quality remains high. Regular community engagement means the clinic remains financially self-sustainable. A long-term, high impact solution to the problem of universal access to healthcare. On #WorldMalariaDay, we proudly celebrate the work of OneDay Health, an exceptional social venture in our second cohort. OneDay brings a permanent primary healthcare solution to underserved populations in rural and remote areas of Uganda. They have set up 42 health centres and treated over 85,000 people with #malaria, most of whom had poor access to malaria diagnosis and treatment before. We are privileged to work with them on their journey to tackle this global health challenge. 🦟🌍 Read more about their work: https://lnkd.in/dd5qGA_N #EquityForHealth #ZeroMalaria
