THIS WEEK 🌍On November 6, I had the honor of joining the Women’s Economic Empowerment Forum, hosted by the Uganda Bankers' Association at Méstil Hotel & Residences. The event brought together phenomenal women who shared inspiring stories and insights into the challenges and triumphs of women in accessing financing for their businesses as well as taking on leadership roles. During our panel discussion, we explored the unique barriers young female entrepreneurs face in accessing funding. From traditional collateral requirements to the gap in financial literacy, the conversation revealed a pressing need for tailored financial solutions that are sensitive to women’s specific circumstances. It was encouraging to hear how financial institutions are now actively working to bridge this gap, offering innovative programs to make funding more accessible to women across Uganda! The forum underscored the importance of women’s empowerment as not only a societal imperative but an economic one. It’s clear that when women thrive, our communities flourish. For Ooosha, this aligns deeply with our mission to uplift women by promoting financial independence and sustainable business practices.
