Today, we attended The World Investor Week (WIW), a global initiative led by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to highlight the critical importance of investor education and protection. This week-long campaign showcases the efforts of securities regulators worldwide to raise awareness and enhance investors' abilities to navigate today’s dynamic financial markets. The theme for today was Tech-Enabled Financial Inclusion: Bringing Sustainable Finance and Investment Opportunities to Everyone. The focus was on amplifying efforts to support women in investments. The keynote speaker, Josephine Okui, CEO of the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) Uganda, emphasized that women should embrace digital technology, as it empowers them by giving them greater financial control. She also encouraged industry players to increase efforts to ensure women are not left behind in investment opportunities. There were two panel discussions. The first focused on empowering women investors, highlighting strategies for capitalizing on investment opportunities, raising capital, and overcoming challenges. The second panel, which spotlighted investment success stories in capital markets, featured one of our clients, Harvest Multipurpose Cooperative Society (HMC), represented by Vasta N. Kamara their Chief Executive. She mentioned how instrumental we were in their journey into equity investment. The session was successful, and our participation in such events is part of our mandate. As a subsidiary of Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited, Uganda is our home, and we are committed to driving its growth. This initiative aims to empower women to expand their presence in the investment space. #WorldInvestorWeek2024 #IOSCOWIW2024
