About us
United Children Integrated Development Action Uganda (UNCIDA) is a local community based Not-for-profit Organization founded in 2008, by Mr. Mugisa Nicholas Robert and incorporated as a company limited by guarantee without share capital; Working to defeat poverty, save lives and achieve social justice with a particular focus on programs that contribute to the strengthening of local, protective environment, and improved social transformation and well-being in the lives of children, youth and their families through innovative Partnerships and by strengthening the voice of and for the poor, marginalized and vulnerable Communities. We implement high-impact and quality thematic priority Areas of Child protection and Gender; Child rights Governance; Health and Nutrition; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding; Education; Renewable Energy; Climate change adaptation and mitigation in development and Emergency Context. Our mandate is to promote the UN convention on the rights of the Child (UNCRC) in achieving the sustainable development for creating conditions that enable children, youth and families to improve their standards of living. UNCIDA responds in emergencies to protect the rights of suffering children done in coordination with other Civil Society‟s involved in humanitarian support. UNCIDA advocate for every child to attain equal rights to protection and care, and to live a healthy life free from abuse and harm; we campaign on violence against children, and protect children from the impact of climate change. We mobilize-amplify-and harness voices of children, youths and Women in families including minorities and children‟s with disabilities and their communities to participate and engage in decision making with policy makers on issues affecting their own lives, and we build capacity of communities and institutions to form appropriate bylaws, policies, practices, and structures affecting their well-being in Uganda.
