🔥FIRE COMPARTMENTATION & FIRE STOPPING AWARENESS COURSES🔥 Last week saw Julian Day MCIOB MIFSM TFRAR delivering our CPD session on Fire Compartmentation and Fire Stopping Awareness to a large, multi-disciplinary client at their head office in Hertfordshire. This was the second well received session for this client to their team which included service engineers, trade persons, supervisors, site managers, and commercial staff. The session was tailored to provide all personnel with an understanding of fire compartmentation and the effective fire stopping of breaches, which is of vital importance in their day-to-day work ensuring that their staff do not start works in buildings without understanding what fire compartmentation is. Included in the session is why compartment lines and fire stopping are there and the importance of them, what effect the persons activities may have on the resistance of fire compartmentation, and who to contact for information and guidance to ensure ongoing fire integrity and compliance. 📆 WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOUR FIRE DOORS WERE INSPECTED? 📆 Fire doors are an integral part of fire safety and protection measures for any building, as they are there to contain fires to a particular area, giving people time to move or escape and to avoid smoke and fire from the affected risk area. Nevertheless, fire doors are also used regularly, as they are functional in buildings, making them susceptible to regular wear and tear and damage, which in turn compromises the quality of fire protection they provide. Therefore inspections, surveys, and remediation are important to ensure the buildings are compliant with fire safety regulations and the fire doors are effective as they need to be. Regulation 10 requires that, if the top storey of the building is above 11m in height (typically, a building of more than four storeys) the Responsible Person must: + use best endeavours to check all flat entrance fire doors at least every 12 months: and + carry out checks of any fire doors in communal areas at least every 3 months. Our professional team perform thorough assessments of all fire doors in your building in line with third party accredited criterion (BMTrada), identifying any issues, defects, or non-compliance with regulatory standards. A BUSY WEEK FOR 3B… 3B Fire Consultancy have had a busy week engaged with a number of projects for a range of clients.
