Our Farm Assurance Lead, Zoe, had a great time at Discover Farming's big day out at the Melplash Show with the Melplash Agricultural Society over the August Bank Holiday. Activities included children milking cows, pancake and butter making, virtual reality farm tours, and hands-on soil and crop exhibits. Hundreds of happy children learned about food and farming through play. Even ITV's This Morning and BBC Radio stopped by! 4R Reassurance is proud to support Discover Farming in connecting children with agriculture. Farmers, the Environment Agency urges you to prepare for winter slurry storage now. With the wet weather increasing pressure on your storage capacities, getting ready is crucial. Here are some essential steps to take: 🔹 Ensure Adequate Storage: Aim for at least six months of storage to meet the farming rules for water. 🔹 Cover and Maintain: Cover tanks, lagoons, and pits. Fix any issues with draining and guttering to separate clean and dirty water. To assist you further, our detailed Nutrient Management Plans (NMP) include livestock and slurry storage calculations, which can help ensure you're well-prepared.
