Paul Norbury, Phil Doyle, Claire Roberts and Natasha Dance started their day at our BASF HQ project at 2 Stockport Exchange, joining the British Council for Offices Northern Committee for a tour of the latest addition to the Stockport Masterplan 3 Stockport Exchange, to hear about the wider regeneration plans from Muse and Stockport Council. 5plus completed the BASF fit-out across floors four and five of 2 Stockport Exchange for BASF in 2020. One of the synergies between 5plus and BASF is our approach to sustainable development. During the design stages we were inspired by BASF’s heritage and forward-thinking sustainable approach as in 1994 BASF were one of the first companies worldwide to publicly commit to sustainable development. It thus took on a pioneering role that continues to this day in the company’s work on sustainability. We undertook a research study into interior finishes, materials and furniture that feature raw ingredients produced by BASF. We then specified these products throughout the office space, knowing that they were derived from a low-energy and sustainable source. READ MORE🔗 https://bit.ly/4fH1klA

FIVE ST PHILIPS. Birmingham. Thanks for the FIRST LOOK write-up Frances Williams Architects’ Journal. This comprehensive refurbishment and alteration was considered within the context of this sensitive setting and has delivered 65,200 sqft of Grade A commercial workspace across eight storeys. The scheme has created a new accessible entrance lobby and front door with a nod to the buildings’ art deco fretwork. A spectacular new 1,800 sqft double height reception space is complimented by a versatile business lounge within an intimate reach of, and backdrop to, Cathedral Square. Each office suite maximises its volume by delivering an exposed soffit and servicing strategy, with the key concentration of services concealed above perforated metal rafts, with integrated lighting and acoustic attenuation. The office suites typically range between 9,400 – 9,700 sqft. The rationalisation of the top floor internal and external plant rooms has made space for a new rooftop extension with direct access onto a 2,000 sqft south facing rooftop terrace overlooking Cathedral Square and the rooftops of Colmore Row. Keith Miller, Senior Fund Manager at Royal London Asset Management Property said: “Five St Philips is an exemplary project for Royal London Asset Management’s property team. Responsible property investment is at the heart of our approach and it was important to us to partner with an architect who could help deliver a project that met our ESG goals. Retrofitting the asset has meant we have extended the life of the building significantly whilst providing grade A office accommodation that meets Birmingham’s growing demand for high quality, sustainable workspace. 5plus has done an excellent job in transforming Five St Philips into a building that meets these standards.” CLIENT: Royal London Asset Management PROJECT MANAGER: Rougemont Property Consultants Ltd.
