  • As the big day approaches, kitchens around the world are preparing for a Christmas feast.  Our Digital Creator, Tiago, has told us about the foods enjoyed by the Portuguese over the festive period.  Feliz Natal from Tiago and the rest of the AaGlobal team!

  • The festive feeling is getting stronger and celebrations have already begun in Romania. Children will have been cleaning their boots in preparation for the arrival of St. Nicholas on 6th December.  Our Senior Translations Project Coordinator, Cristina, tells us about some of her favourite Romanian Christmas traditions.  Crăciun Fericit from Cristina and the rest of the AaGlobal team.

  • AaGlobal went to the Ball 🌟 Cherrelle, Tiago, Elliot, Rea, Martyna, Chloe, Ellie, Viona and Archie attended this fantastic event for Age UK beginning with a red carpet and a glass of fizz, and continued with live entertainment, a raffle and bingo (sadly, we weren't winners!) and some excellent food inbetween. The night was a great celebration of the work Age UK do in the local area with some lovely videos highlighting their importance to the elderly community and a heartfelt tribute to our beloved Bee Lady. Thank you for a brilliant night Age UK!

  • MERRY XMAS!  The 'X' in 'Xmas' isn't just an "ex"... it actually comes from the Greek word for 'Christ" or "Christos".  Χριστός starts with the Greek letter, Chi or X to English speakers.  Shortening Christ to X can be dated as far back as 1100AD.

  • Meet our Language People. Elliot Morton - Translation Project Coordinator 🗣️ Languages spoken: English, Spanish, Portuguese, still studying Polish.  ✈️ Furthest place you've travelled to or favourite destination: My favourite must be Kanal Sveti Ante in Croatia, a quiet and rugged part of an incredible coastline with a fortress accessed by a submerged path, crystal clear water, sea turtles and plenty of fresh mussels to collect.  📣 Favourite word or saying: “Tha’ll get a clip round’ ear oyle!” an empty threat said affectionately by my grandmother, usually in response to my asking for something.  🧑🍳 Favourite foreign food: Fortunately, I live in Hull and am surrounded by the world’s best cuisine, but I do miss the tasty tradition of tapas with a drink in Granada, Spain.   😊 Most rewarding part of your job: Knowing that I’ve done my utmost to help and support our translators and clients.   Contact our team of Language People today to find out how we can help you. www.aaglobal.co.uk #meettheteam #languagepeople #aaglobal

  • A carp in the bath... and other Christmas traditions. 🎄 Christmas is celebrated on 25th December by around 165 countries around the world.  Christmas is a big celebration in Poland, where they take their festivities very seriously. Our Translations Department Manager, Agata, tells about just a few of the Polish Christmas traditions.  Wesołych Świąt from Agata and the rest of the AaGlobal team!
