Today was the last day of the delivery phase of one fully equipped #ARGOS smart ROV spread to DGA - Direction générale de l'armement in Brest, France. What challenges do dredging and cable laying companies face in the transition zone? 🤔 The transition zone is notorious for its harsh conditions, presenting significant challenges for dredging and cable-laying companies - challenges that demand specialist skills and equipment to overcome. Positioning in this area is difficult, and typically cannot be done with established subsea positioning methods, such as USBL. The MiniPods acoustic positioning system serves to fill this gap and is designed to be fully submerged below the surface, providing accurate positioning when above the surface for vehicles, divers and towed arrays. It's no surprise that working in the transition zone is one of the more challenging aspects of offshore operations. 📢 BREAKING NEWS...SEA AND LAND TECHNOLOGIES Pte Ltd (SALT) makes a major investment in aae technologies Ultra-High Resolution (UHR) survey technology. During #OSEA2024, our long term partners in Singapore committed to the purchase of a suite of shallow seismic survey equipment for their rental business which will enhance SALT's capability as a provider of turnkey geophysical survey systems throughout SE Asia. Central to the contract award is applied acoustics' HydraSeis UHR multi-channel streamer system, a modular 96 channel digital data acquisition system launched earlier this year. Featuring integrated 16kHz 24-Bit ADC modules, HydraSeis provides digital low noise, wide bandwidth data acquisition with continuous UHR recording. Securing the contract during his visit to Singapore, Business Development Manager Gavin Willoughby (seen here with SALT's Head of Operations Phillip Thomas) commented "we are absolutely thrilled that SALT and applied acoustics continue to support each others operations, and this latest and extremely significant order will give our products greater visibility in the SE Asia region whilst enabling SALT to secure further geophysical rental contracts in the future".
