*𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗭𝗘 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗬* Our friends and client Greco Developments Ltd did a brilliant thing recently. As part of their rebranding, they commissioned their very own beer LIFELINE, brewed by the exceptional Fierce Beer. With incredible design by Studio Form, the beer is a work of art! While we won’t steal their idea for ASE, we would like to get involved. Greco kindly gifted us some beer to use as a promotional giveaway! ASE recently completed a caisson repair study for a North Sea client. A subsea inspection found a large hole within a subsea guide on a seawater lift caisson. Our study investigated various options from swage repair to full caisson replacement, considering all aspects including safety of personnel, future risk to the asset, removal / installation requirements and OOM costs. ASE have extensive experience in caisson removal, repair and replacement from concept study to detailed design including structural calculations, lifting and rigging schemes, lift plans and workpacks. Please get in touch with any caisson related queries. #oilandgas #caisson #structuralengineering #engineering #design #integrity

A design from the early days of ASE. We were approached by a client in the diving industry looking to improve the overall safety of their pressure testing activities. ASE engineered, designed and aided in the fabrication of the below portable blast container, allowing our client to safely test equipment up to 200bar. Custom pipework/calibrated gauges were later added by authorised technicians from Aquanox Technical Solutions, leaving our client with a fully functional and more appropriately safe working environment. Happy client Greco Developments Ltd. #engineering #design #concepttocompletion #structural #diving #blastprotection #safety

SAFETY ALERT – CHRISTMAS LIGHTS EDITION Description of incident: Whilst installing Christmas lights on the garden fence, an ASE employee was reaching behind a tree to pull through lights, turned and got a branch from the neighbours unruly hedge directly in the eyeball. Actions: Immediately after the stabbing, the employee dismissed it as a foreign object in the eye. Finished installing the lights. When rubbing did not dislodge the suspected foreign object, employee proceeded indoors and washed the eye out. When this did not alleviate the pain, the employee checked the mirror and realised damage had been done to the eyeball. Findings following the incident: - You won't find an optician on a Saturday evening - Waiting an hour to speak to a pharmacist only to be told you need to see an Optician does not improve mood - See first bullet point - Spending your Sunday morning with your family waiting at the opticians for an emergency appointment is not the best use of family time - Employee with swollen, scratched, blurry eye who is required to stare at bright computer screens all day does not perform at their peek! Good Practice Guidance: - Safety goggles to be used whilst working in the vicinity of protruding vegetation - Trim your hedges!!! - If something stabs you in the eye, immediately stop the job and get it checked out. Rubbing rarely helps. - Don't throw common sense out the window just because it's Christmas But in all seriousness, I’m very lucky the damage done wasn’t worse or long lasting. It’s healing now and hopefully vision will return to normal soon. Eyes are pretty important, look after them! NB. The lights pictured below are not the lights in question #protectyoureyes #christmaslights #safetyfirst #stepchangeinsafety #wontbedoingthatagain #aberdeenchristmaslights #aberdeenengineering #structuralengineering #structuraldesign
