As we look forward to celebrating International Women's Day this weekend we are thrilled to share that we have partnered with Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace, a platform focused on raising awareness and promoting positive change around menopause in the workplace, particularly by providing training and accreditation for employers to become menopause friendly. Through this collaboration, we will work towards official Menopause Friendly Accreditation, reinforcing our commitment to workplace wellbeing, gender equity, and an inclusive culture where employees feel supported at every stage of their careers. This initiative has been spearheaded by our Women at ABM Impact Group, a cohort dedicated to championing women’s contributions and leadership across the business. As part of this commitment, Susan Mason, CMgr FCMI, VP, Technology ABM UK&I, has been appointed as the Executive Sponsor of the group, further strengthening our focus on creating an equitable and inclusive environment. Our team members enjoyed a night celebrating Richard Sykes, SVP & President, ABM UK & Ireland, on his well-deserved recognition as one of INvolve's OUTstanding Advocates and Role Models for 2024. The recognition highlights Richard's commitment to championing LGBTQ+ visibility and inclusion. Designed to align with the evolving needs of our customers, we will drive the effort with a newly formed cross-functional team of environmental, social impact, and corporate responsibility experts. When it comes to energy management, savings speak for themselves. Through the implentation of a BMS Analytics package for one client, the ABM team was able to reduce energy usage by 250,718kWh/year, without sacrificing efficiency, which financially equated to £45,129. ABM is proud to have renewed its membership with King Charles’ Business in the Community (BITC) network, reflecting our 2025 focus on community engagement. As part of this key partnership, ABM has launched three people-focussed BITC programmes: - Coaching In the Community: Providing personalised support to job seekers by pairing them with trained ABM mentors who offer career guidance, skills development, and confidence-building to aid them back into the workplace - Supporting Refugee’s Programme: Empowering refugees through tailored employment opportunities, language training, and cultural integration to help them thrive in new communities. - Let’s Care Together: With one in seven people juggling work and caring for someone older, ill or disabled, this initiative unites businesses and community organisations to support caregivers and foster more inclusive and compassionate workplaces.
