🎉Today our very own Steve Theivendrarajah spoke on the attitude is everything panel at FUTURE OF FESTIVALS. This inspiring session brought together event professionals to delve into the crucial topic of diversity within the workplace and the events industry. Steve shared valuable insights about the Asian music industry, highlighting how promoters often struggle to gain the press coverage they deserve. Despite selling out global concerts in mere hours, these talented artists remain underrepresented in mainstream media compared to their UK counterparts. Sara Bertie from ES GLOBAL also highlighted the progress of women in the events sector, noting their rise into senior leadership roles. Steve alluded to Mash Media’s recent restructure of the management team which saw Liz Agostini become the company’s new CEO. We’re delighted to announce that Freddie Fellowes will be joining our ‘Future of Festivals’ panel at the Access All Areas Conference & Awards, taking place on 5 December at Indigo at The O2! A major presence on the UK festival circuit for over 20 years, the Secret Garden Party's founder and impresario, Freddie Fellowes aka The Head Gardener, has always sought to push boundaries. For the most recent edition of the Garden Party, Freddie chose to bypass headliners in favour of spreading the booking budget more evenly across the line-up in order to better support grassroots talent. Somewhat more controversially, the head gardener also decided to replace the main stage with a full-size maquette that had been ‘taken over’ by a fictitious global entertainment company… this was duly blown up and burnt as part of the award-winning Saturday night spectacle.
