Encouraging and supporting research into bladder cancer is one of our core aims as a charity. We do this by identifying key research priorities, funding research and improving research data and statistics. About us
Action Bladder Cancer UK (previously Action on Bladder Cancer) was set up in 2009 by a group of urologists and patients who were committed to improving outcomes for bladder cancer patients. Their concern was the low profile of such a common cancer and the lack of both awareness (amongst the public and health professionals) and critical research funding. We have three main strands to our work: Improving outcomes for bladder cancer patients Improving research into bladder cancer Improving patient support

Bladder cancer is the most expensive cancer for the NHS to treat yet it only gets a tiny proportion of research funding. This is why we are dedicated to awarding grants to find out more about the disease, improve awareness, treatments and patient care. We want to say a HUGE thanks to Buzz Electrical for holding a fundraising ball in November to raise money for ABC UK. MD of Buzz Electrical, Steve Owens, was diagnosed with bladder cancer in October 2022, which resulted in him having his bladder removed in February 2023, now living with a urostomy stoma and having ongoing immunotherapy treatment for secondary bladder cancer in his lungs. It looks like you all had an incredible evening! #bladdercancer #fundraising #ABCUK
