Wondering what on earth our graphic is all about? Well, let us explain. We all know that at this time of the year, it can sometimes be really hard to motivate yourself to stay active. That’s why we’re choosing to get involved with RED January which means we are Rising Every Day this month. Whether it’s perhaps making sure we wrap up warm and get outside to get some steps in, putting down our yoga mats in our living room and following a home workout or attending a sports club to play football, rugby, tennis or any other fantastic sport - we’re building a little bit of physical activity into our days, every day. And don’t worry, if you haven’t started RED January yet then it’s not too late! Take a look at their website now and have a browse of all of the ways you could be getting active, your body and mind will thank you; https://lnkd.in/dCJgswNv Each week, we’ll be sharing how certain members of the team are getting their RED on and hopefully inspiring you all to join us on the RED January journey!

  • We are delighted to support this women’s health event as the co-ordinators for This Girl Can in Suffolk. The event promises to provide a vital platform for signposting resources, sharing valuable insights, and fostering open conversations about health issues that impact women. Empowering women with knowledge and the opportunity to share their experiences is at the heart of building healthier communities, and we are proud to be able to contribute! Will we see you at the event? 😄

We have been delighted by the early response following the announcement of the Let's Talk Women's Health event, taking place at The Hold - Home to Suffolk Archives in March 2025. This not-for-profit event is in collaboration between Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital and Jen Evans Soft Tissue Therapy, with key sponsorship from MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company and Active Suffolk. Our aim is for this public women's health event to provide opportunity for people of all genders and backgrounds to access local organisations and support networks, share their experiences and listen to educational talks from professionals in their field on some of the key health issues that face women... from puberty, to managing heavy periods, fertility, skin care, breast cancer, menopause and beyond. At Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital, we hold regular events for clinicians and members of the public, with the shared goal of providing access to expert knowledge and an opportunity for often complex questions to be answered. We hope that this event will further our community outreach, provide reliable expert led information and break the taboos around women's health. A huge well done to Healthcare Account Manager, Katie Winearls, for leading with this initiative. We'd like to say a huge welcome to our brand new Development Officer for Place, Oliver Ambrose! Does the name sound familiar...? If you've worked with us previously then you may already know Olly! 😄 After previously working within and making a hugely positively difference within our Children and Young People's team, Olly then took a role within Sport England as a Project Officer supporting work in Place. This has of course given him a huge amount of fantastic experience to bring to working with us, within his Place locality of Waveney. Please join us in saying hello and wishing him the best with us (once again) 👋

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Development Officer (Place) at Active Suffolk!

  • Fantastic to see our friends over at Abbeycroft prioritising the safety of their swimmers with their newly installed assisted lifeguard technology! As with any physical activity, if someone doesn't feel like they'd be safe in doing it, it's just another barrier to their participation. We're delighted to see that barrier being removed with installations like this one!

Demonstrating our commitment to a safety-first culture, We have installed cutting-edge assisted lifeguard technology at Mildenhall Hub to enhance lifeguard operations. This technology provides an extra layer of protection for swimmers while improving operational efficiencies.  We worked with the Royal Life Saving Society UK - RLSS UK throughout the process to ensure a smooth transition to the new technology and to ensure that lifeguards and facility staff are confident and fully trained in using the advanced safety features.
