“That’s a job? Who knew?!” – helping Gen Z find their path ADEPT is proud to be transforming local government recruitment by helping talented Gen Z candidates find their path. In partnership with Colas Ltd APSE - Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE), the Midlands Highway Alliance Plus (MHA) as well as Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom, the ‘Find Your Path’ campaign which launches today, will address the critical workforce challenges in local councils. Research by ADEPT's Future Highways Research Group (FHRG) revealed a stark workforce landscape, with only 11% of local council staff aged 30 or younger, high vacancy rates across critical service areas and urgent skills gaps in environmental and technological domains. As part of the campaign development process, detailed focus groups were conducted with young people to understand their career aspirations and perceptions of local government. These discussions revealed that most young people don't understand what local councils do, are not attracted to local government careers and are unaware of the range of jobs available. The campaign will focus on attracting young people aged between 18 and 27 and highlighting to them the potential and variety in local council roles and careers. The eight-week pilot campaign, developed by Eleven will run in Plymouth City Council, South Gloucestershire Council, Oxfordshire County Council, Barnsley Council and London Borough of Hounslow using innovative recruitment strategies and a social media campaign run across #Meta, #YouTube and #TikTok. Find out more about the campaign at findyourpath.uk and read the full press release here https://lnkd.in/e6az3-dH #findyourpath #localcounciljobs #genzjobs
