Scotland’s first national medical drone network could be a step closer following a pioneering project aiming to revolutionise healthcare logistics. The 16-member consortium led by AGS Airports and including the University of Strathclyde, Skyports Drone Services, NATS and NHS Scotland, also prototyped landing stations for drones at NHS sites across Scotland. The innovative project builds on years of research developed in the Aerospace Centre of Excellence at the University of Strathclyde. 

Absolutely fantastic news about SRATHcube!. Congratulations to StrathAIS for this success. The Aerospace Centre of Excellence is proud of supporting this initiative and working towards the launch of the first Scottish student-led satellite. But STRATHcube is not only a student project. It will carry a unique payload developed in the Aerospace Centre of Excellence in collaboration with Carmine Clemente to detect space debris and will serve as a testbed to validate our re-entry code TITAN, developed by Marco Fossati and his team. The STRATHcube team has been selected to participate in the European Space Agency's 'Fly Your Satellite!' programme. This initiative supports university students in designing, building, testing, launching, and operating their own satellites. Being part of this programme is a significant milestone for STRATHcube, bringing them closer to launching Scotland's first student-led CubeSat into space. STRATHcube is the flagship project of StrathAIS, aiming to promote responsible and sustainable use of space. The mission focuses on space debris detection and removal, contributing to Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and the Design for Demise (D4D) initiative.
