A320 test aircraft makes first flight equipped with Eurofighter nose cone The German Aerospace Center (DLR) Center’s A320 Advanced Technology Research Aircraft has made its first test flight equipped with the nose cone of a Eurofighter Typhoon this week. The flight, which took place from Braunschweig, Germany, on January 21, 2025 is part of a test program that will integrate a new type of radar into the Eurofighter. Türkiye successfully flight tests stealth drone with glide bomb Turkish Aerospace has run a flight test of its Anka III stealth drone that included the release of its Tolun glide bomb from an internal weapons bay. This successful test is the first time in Türkiye that a domestically-developed aircraft has released munitions in such a way. Stratolaunch wins $25m for hypersonic flight testing The USA’s Missile Defense Agency has awarded Stratolaunch $24.7 million for flight testing to help develop anti-hypersonic missile defense systems. The project funded by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) will modify Stratolaunch’s Spirit of Mojave 747 launch platform so that the Talon-A hypersonic test vehicle can be used beyond the US western coast, where testing has so far taken place, to a variety of global locations. BAE Systems to supply batteries for Airbus hybrid aircraft project Defence company BAE Systems is to provide batteries to Airbus for a micro-hybridization demonstration project the European planemaker is working on for commercial aircraft.
