Happy to be supporting at this important time for the economic future of our country, Prof Helen Pankhurst CBE's initiative 'The Promise' to able and empower our employees to vote on the 4th July 2024. Information has been shared on last date to register and postal vote deadlines. Also flexibility in working hours. As a female founder of a business dedicated to health & wellness and supporting Madre's to shine equally worldwide, I am acutely aware of the privilege to be able to vote and the responsibility to do so, precisely because so many women do not have the same democratic rights. I encourage all business owners in the UK to sign up for the Centenary Action Promise #SheVotes24 @Centeraryaction @helenpankhurst

Agua de Madre reposted this
After a month or so of no doubt being rather hard on our guts, here’s a very timely release from M&S this week, in collaboration with nutritional science platform ZOE As the press release states, this is ZOE’s first retail collaboration, one which showcases the weighty brand they have developed, given M&S’s general strategy to concentrate on their own label over third parties. It reads like an interesting partnership – with M&S leading on product and ZOE providing the science and insight. It’s effectively an ‘influencer’ partnership of a different kind; one you’d expect will stand up to any scrutiny given the reputations involved. An interesting side note for me is the decision to lead with a dairy based gut health launch at a time that’s traditionally been all about plant-based, although the release talks about Plant Kitchen in some detail. Of course, M&S will have plenty of gut-friendly company. After being a Kantar key trend in '23, Gut Health as a category continues to be a highly active, competitive space, with some cracking challengers leading the charge. If you feel like treating your insides, here are a few suggestions: In snacking, the likes of Boundless (which I’m currently nibbling at my desk) and The Gut Stuff (who have their own ZOE link via co-founder Alana Macfarlane Kempner and her twin sister, Lisa) have you covered. In drinks, alongside the established kombucha brands, you’re spoiled for gut-loving choices, no doubt buoyed by the success of Olipop in the US – perhaps a soda in the form of Selfish Gut Friendly Soda drinks or FHIRST, or a water kefir like London’s Agua de Madre. Or if you want to focus purely on the functional end of things, then the UK start-up powerhouse that is Dan Murray-Serter 🧠 has you covered, with his supplement brand, Heights. If you’ve got any extra suggestions, pop them in the comments and we’ll start the year with some nice gut feeling. ++ I’m Andrew a couple-of-times F&B founder, who currently operates as an EiR, Consultant, and Mentor. I love innovation in the space, and the intersection between corporates and the start-up space. If you want to chat, drop me a message, and if this happens to float your content boat, please give me a follow.

Thank you Andrew Allen for the mention! We are thrilled Zoe and Tim Spector are collaborating with an innovative Marks and Spencer and hope more people soon get the opportunity to experience our award winning dairy free water kefir.
