You know we’re not ones to talk out of turn but Speak No Evil – the original Danish film – takes it to unimaginable extremes. We bit our tongue and let writer/director Christian Tafdrup do the talking to the press when we promoted his truly disturbing film for its Home Ent. release from Acorn Media International. As well as speaking to Starburst Magazine, Mark & Me Podcast and Any Good Films, Christian Tafdrup went head-to-head with James Watkins, the director of the recent remake starring James McAvoy, for a fantastic double page feature on the making of the films in Empire Magazine. We’re delighted to share it here and we’ll be sure to avoid making any new holiday mates!

Halloween has been and gone, but horror never dies and with their two latest Limited Edition releases, Second Sight Films continues to bring the spine-chilling goods... Cultural phenomenon The Blair Witch Project once again cast its spell thanks to a stunning Limited Edition Box Set. To mark the release we arranged a press junket with writer-directors Eduardo Sánchez and Daniel Myrick, who shared exclusive insights and stories with Empire Magazine (see the DPS feature below), Filmhounds, A Year in Horror Podcast, The Hollywood News, Mark & Me Podcast, The Upcoming and more, 25 years after its groundbreaking debut. Our campaign brought a wave of acclaim for Second Sight Films and the release, garnering 5 star reviews and rave reviews far and wide. Among the highlights Film Juice raved: ‘Second Sight just get better and better with every release, but it’s hard to see how they – or anyone – could top this. An absolutely magnificent piece of work from all involved. Truly special’ The directors also praised Second Sight Films telling The Hollywood News 'The company has a hard-earned reputation for crafting beautiful releases…their work on this is once again sublime' The Obsession of Film celebrated the release, stating: ‘This Box set certainly stands as one of the most impressive Second Sight has released thus far’ earning a ★★★★★ rating. It’s a Stampede echoed the sentiment: ‘If you do consider yourself a fan of The Blair Witch Project, this new release from Second Sight Films is a must-have purchase’ ★★★★★. Second Sight Films also unleashed another unique horror sensation Late Night with the Devil Limited Editon. Our campaign garnered further acclaim, with critics and fans alike awarding 4 & 5 star reviews. Film Juice’s unboxing said: ‘Second Sight’s treatment is, as ever, second to none– pigs will fly the day Second Sight puts out a subpar release. Their approach to home entertainment is that, quite rightly, there is no substitute for it – and it is certainly evident in everything they do. Late Night with the Devil is a modern classic, and one richly deserving of a place in Second Sight’s prestigious collection.’ It's Bloggin’ Evil said ‘Once again, Second Sight Films clearly has their eyes on the prize and contributes to dishing out the best possible transfers and exclusives when considering physical media. Their latest, Late Night with the Devil is no longer the host but the hosted with a tricked out limited-edition set best watched from under the sheets late at night and thoroughly enjoyed within its special features after the film credits roll' And Dead Pitt sealed the deal with ‘Nobody does Limited Editions better than Second Sight Films… This is an out of the park home run from …outstanding...killer… The gold standard of physical media’ With two more knockout releases, Second Sight Films once again proves ‘it has established itself as the market leader in how to do Home Entertainment discs properly’ (Any Good Films).

Sometimes we're lucky enough to work with people who inspire us and recently we had the absolute pleasure to work with acting legend Carl Lumbly, who did just that. His career spans more than 40 years and is still going strong and we really appreciate him taking time to speak to us for his recent film, I’m Charlie Walker, a fascinating story based on true events, which he did so with real thought and passion. Lumbly's awe-inspiring career started way back, with a feature debut that saw him star alongside Danny Glover in Escape from Alcatraz; he was the ever Black superhero on TV in M.A.N.T.I.S.; the first Black super-soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and he can soon be seen in the new Captain America: Brave New World. Not only that, his first major TV role saw him play Detective Marcus Petrie in the hit police drama Cagney & Lacey. But more importantly he’s a genuinely lovely person, fascinating raconteur and someone we learnt much wisdom from. Lumbly told Top 10 Films 'I’m Charlie Walker can inspire modern audiences by reminding them of the interconnectedness of history and the present. “We carry those records, all of us do from whatever our point of view… There are things to feel proud of, and there are things to regret, question, wonder about, and carry forward” ‘ He also spoke in depth to The Mirror, Metro, Filmhounds, Any Good Films, The Fan Carpet, The People’s Movies and we'll be sharing more of these features soon. I'm Charlie Walker is on digital from Miracle Media and really worth a watch. https://lnkd.in/ea-5Z2mr

It’s been a monster month, particularly for those who have a penchant for the macabre. We’re talking about another of our brilliant clients’ recent slate… step forward Acorn Media Int. who’ve had a run of top-notch releases of the beastly kind. First up, The Walking Dead continues its reign with more outstanding series walking onto physical media and we were there to spread the word. We were thrilled to promote The Ones Who Live, Daryl Dixon Season 1 and Dead City Season 1 on Blu-ray, DVD and digital and we also sunk our teeth into Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire for its second series and box set. Our press campaigns garnered rave reviews across genre, entertainment, consumer and mainstream media, with ratings of 4 – 5 stars across the board. It was full marks from My Bloody Reviews for Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire. Their perfect 10/10 review said, ‘One of the most absorbing and astonishing pieces of TV that you will see in this or any other year’. Filmhounds gave the series 4 stars, calling it ‘an incredible second season’ and Trans-cribe Blog stated: 'I found every single episode to be some of the best made, best written and stunningly acted episodes of TV that I've seen in a long time.' And there’s life in the undead yet: Film Juice called the Walking Dead spinoffs ‘essential viewing... some of the best content in years... each is packed with the usual zombie action and incredible effects, while the more focused storytelling allows for far greater character development for these heroes and villains we have come to love over the years.' Daryl Dixon delighted critics and Hell Horror reminded us of the importance of physical media: ‘In an age where streaming dominates, it’s more important than ever to support physical media. By purchasing the Daryl Dixon Blu-ray, you’re not just getting superior quality, but you’re also supporting the creators who’ve kept this franchise alive and thriving. Physical releases allow fans to own a piece of the universe and show their appreciation for the cast, crew and everyone involved in bringing The Walking Dead to life.' SFX Magazine also spoke to series showrunner David Zabel about taking on the challenging task of reuniting Daryl and Carol in the upcoming second series, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol, which is set for its home release on 16 December. Check out the piece in its gory glory here.

Excited to share another fab feature that landed today in print and online for #SecondSightFilms. We always love reading The Guardian's How We Made feature and are thrilled we secured it for The Hitcher, setting up interviews with director Robert Harmon and actor C.Thomas Howell who shared some gems including: 'Rutger seemed to terrify everyone on the production and was pretty much left alone....About three weeks in, he said: “I think we should have lunch together.” I went to his trailer and we sat in dead silence as he chain-smoked filterless Camel cigarettes. After an eternity, I mustered up some courage and in my squeaky teenage voice said: “Rutger, what’s your secret to playing bad guys?” He took a long drag of his cigarette, leaned into my face, slowly exhaled and whispered: “I don’t play bad guys.” I just gathered up my things, thanked him for lunch and backed out of the trailer' Read in full here: https://lnkd.in/eUPDq-Kv
