Almac joined the W5 Belfast Sustainability event last week, connecting with students on the future of sustainability. Our team was part of the employer exhibition and job fair, sharing our commitment to reaching net zero by 2045, along with our other sustainability goals, including reducing waste, conserving energy, and promoting green chemistry. Isha Prabhu and Cameron Beeley from Almac Sciences had a great morning at a ‘STEM and Careers’ event at Penicuik High School this week. Dr Frances Weldon, Associate Director STEM Outreach, was delighted to present two prizes on behalf of the Almac Group at Ulster University's School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences annual prize giving ceremony. The Sir Allen McClay Award was presented to Hannah O’Dowd, pictured below, and the Almac Pharmacology Prize went to Eva Kelly, who attended the event virtually. Congratulations to Hannah and Eva!

We’re pleased to announce that our Singapore facility has received a new Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification for cell, tissue and gene therapy products from the Health Sciences Authority Singapore. The site also received a GMP certificate renewal for therapeutics products. These certifications demonstrate our unwavering commitment to operating at the highest standards on behalf of our clients, who can be confident that their clinical trial materials are consistently packaged and handled according to relevant GMP standards.

As part of our £11 million investment in expanding our global analytical capabilities, we are thrilled to announce that five members of our analytical team have started a two-year course at Queen's University Belfast to pursue a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Analysis. We wish Klaudia Galazka, Grace Catney, Shannon McKeown, Nikola Matejova, and Abigail Magill (not pictured) every success as they gain advanced knowledge and high-level practical skills in laboratory analysis.
