🌍 On World Environmental Health Day, we are reminded of how crucial it is to keep our planet healthy. After all, this is our home! 🌱   Taking care of the Earth should always be a priority, and how we source our food needs to reflect that responsibility. Unfortunately, current food production methods are damaging the environment, and rice — a staple for 3.5 billion people — significantly contributes to this problem. 🌾 Rice farming accounts for up to 12% of global methane emissions, making it a major driver of greenhouse gas emissions and environmental degradation.   At ALORA, we are fully focused on changing that. What an Incredible Way to Start!🤩🌎 Our CEO, Luke Young, has just begun his adventure at the One Young World program, and we’re beyond excited to have him representing Alora’s voice on a global stage. Surrounded by visionary leaders and changemakers, Luke is joining a cohort of founders driving the future of technology and sustainability. The journey started with an inspiring pre-event by Audi Environmental Foundation, where the group heard from Franziska Trautmann, CEO of Glass Half Full, a company turning recycled glass into sand and gravel for coastal restoration and disaster relief. It’s been a fantastic opportunity for Luke to connect with other passionate leaders, share insights on sustainability, and discuss the role of machine learning in tackling environmental challenges. With the program in full swing and the opening night just hours away, we look forward to seeing how this experience will inspire Alora’s mission to grow rice in the oceans and help feed the planet without compromising its future.
