This award follows our successful collaboration with Equinor on previous harsh environment operations and projects. The Bay du Nord FPSO required by Equinor is well aligned with our long history of delivering vessels specifically designed for harsh environments. Situated in the Flemish Pass, 500 km offshore Newfoundland, Canada, Bay du Nord faces challenging remote, deep water conditions. 🎉 FPSO Petrojarl Kong starts production! 🎉 A proud moment for our team—our FPSO Petrojarl Kong has today officially commenced production from Eni’s Baleine field offshore Côte d’Ivoire. This milestone marks a great achievement - congratulations to everyone involved! 🚀 Our FSO Yamoussoukro will provide additional storage capacity and oil export facilities at the field. This week at #COP29 in Baku, global leaders, innovators, and policy makers are coming together with one common goal: ensuring that we stay on track for a #NetZero future by 2050. The urgency to accelerate the green transition has never been clearer, but to achieve this, the right financing mechanisms must be in place. Altera and our Stella Maris CCS solution is part of the Norwegian delegation and represented by our very own Anders C. Melhus. We need to mobilize capital at an unprecedented scale – from governments, the private sector, and institutional investors – to support clean energy, decarbonization, and sustainable infrastructure. It’s not just about pledges; it’s about execution, partnerships, and building a financial ecosystem that makes the transition to a low-carbon economy both achievable and equitable. Børre has extensive expertise in developing large-scale infrastructure and deep understanding of the CCS industry. His leadership will play a crucial role in advancing Altera’s efforts to deliver innovative and scalable CCS solutions, driving the energy transition and reducing global carbon emissions. Big news! Today, EU announced that our CCS project STARFISH, part of our broader Stella Maris CCS initiative, has been awarded up to EUR 225 million in grant funding by the EU Innovation Fund! The project, developed in partnership with Harbour Energy, will provide a first-of-its-kind, large-scale solution for CO2 sequestration using shared, flexible offshore infrastructure. The initiative aligns with the European Commission's goal of achieving 50 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of storage capacity by 2030. The STARFISH project represents a major step in creating a scalable and reliable storage solution that can accommodate existing and future CO2 capture projects across Europe. Altera Coastal Clean Up 2024 🌊   This year’s Global Beaches and Rivers Clean Up at Altera was a success! Manila, Rio de Janeiro, and Stavanger all took part, with Altera employees and their families showing commitment to preserving our environment. Seeing so many people come together to make a positive impact was inspiring.   The main goal of the event was to raise environmental awareness and enhance community involvement by removing waste from our beaches and rivers. These efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and we hope everyone who participated gained a deeper understanding of how small actions can lead to a more sustainable future. In total, our team collected 401 kg of waste.   We're proud of everyone's dedication and contribution to this global effort. Let's continue mobilizing for future activities to further protect our environment. We are proud to support maritime students in achieving their educational and career aspirations through scholarship grants. This initiative is part of our commitment to giving back to the community and investing in the next generation of maritime professionals that ensures the industry’s continued success. At our Abidjan office, we recently awarded scholarships to the 2024 batch of recipients from the Regional Academy of Marine Sciences and Technology (ARSTM). After a rigorous selection process, eight deserving students were selected based on their exam performance. These students will receive full benefits, covering tuition fees, school materials, and living expenses. We are grateful for the opportunity to support local talent development and actively uplift our communities in the most meaningful ways possible. #TEAMaltera
