Our Vice President Helen Sweeney popped into Maskell and Josephson to see Anthony and the team today. Anthony wasn’t able to attend the Chamber Awards in October, but had won runner up in the ‘Business of the year’ award, so it only seemed right that Helen donned her chains and presented it in person. Anthony was asked for a few words; “I was beyond delighted to receive the news that Maskell and Josephson had won the runner up prize at the Chamber awards late last year. The practice has been serving the Altrincham community, and beyond, for the last 42 years and it’s always humbling to be recognised for all the hard work my entire team put in to making sure those who comes to us receive the best eyecare possible, and glasses that wow those around you. A nice problem we’ve had over the last few years is struggling to keep up with demand. We are in the process of extending the practice having taken over the 2nd floor of the building at the start of the year. We are adding a 3rd consulting room, a treatment room (extending and enhancing our dry eye treatments and offering dry macular degeneration treatments - for which we’re the first opticians in Greater Manchester to offer), as well as a specialised audiology room to help look after the hearing of our patients too, and an eyewear styling studio where you can relax in style with a glass of bubbly (alternative drinks will be available) whilst being styled with some incredible eyewear. Thank you Belinda Jones and Georgina Mills for hosting this mornings Breakfast matters at Trafford college. The very first of 2025. We had 2 brilliant speakers on hand. Highlights included: ✅ A hands-on AI training workshop by Billy Gilchrist from Hopwood Hall College where local businesses explored how to use AI tools to enhance processes and create real-world outputs like presentations, websites, and videos. ✅ An inspiring session with Leah Mackay from Travel Counsellors, who shared expert tips, insights, and debunked common travel myths. Held in the Colleges state-of-the-art Innovation Suite, which offers an engaging and immersive experience.
