Today we teamed up with Steve Frost of SAS Land Services to carry out the seeding of a very steep bank which was inaccessible for operatives to safely seed. We instructed Steve to sow two different types of grass seed; fescue and a rye mix. These mixes will stabilise the bank and provide a aesthetic backdrop to one of the holes on the golf course! We've returned to St Mary's University to continue enhancing their natural turf sports facilities. This year, our focus was on addressing the significant undulations in the center of the site. To rectify this, we utilised laser grading technology to ensure precision in leveling the pitch and eliminating ponding areas. Our advanced grader, equipped with RTK GPS, facilitated accurate cut and fill operations, requiring 400m3 of material to achieve a pitch level with a 10mm accuracy. Following this, we conducted cultivations, sand amelioration, and seeding in three directions to ensure a close seed spacing and even distribution of seed. The project was completed within budget and timeframe, adhering to exceptionally high standards. We look forward to seeing the results! We have been removing scrub around this reservoir ready for it to be expanded later on this year.
