How often have you heard someone say “I don’t know why but I just don’t like it”? We form opinions of people, things, (and brands) without actually thinking about them. Our biases act as shortcuts for decision-making and throw logic out the window. They use beliefs, emotions, psychological and social factors to make decisions without our conscious self being aware. And they can make us love and hate inexplicably. Here’s our handy cheat sheet on the basics of biases. Give it a read here 👉🏽 https://lnkd.in/eZ8cefcQ #MarketingInsights #ConsumerBehavior #BrandStrategy #Biases #Branding

What do Gen Z and Millennial City workers want from their job and how do they feel about working in the financial heart of the City of London? Here’s some of what we learned from recent research project for Eastern City BID that helped us shape a place brand to engage younger workers: 👉 It’s a place to have a career that combines ambition with impact. From insurance that helps businesses get back on their feet, to easily accessible financial services to funding Net Zero - there’s a benefit to society 👉It creates opportunity - not just for ‘me’ but for everyone as the engine of the economy 👉Workers feel a sense of pride because of the City’s history and its achievements 👉The history and ancient streets make it meaningful. People feel part of the story - and they can’t really get this anywhere else 👉 The City is much more welcoming than the tall towers and its reputation suggest - once you get over those barriers it’s all about human relationships and collaboration 👉Diversity really matters, not just paying lip service (interesting in the light of recent DE&I row backs) 👉Despite WFH, they crave community and connection at work #insights #placebranding Helena Forrest Ailsa Anderson

What happens when we watch a live performance? Why do we enjoy it? How do we enjoy it? What's happening in our brains and bodies - as individuals and as a group? All togged up and ready to be monitored with an EEG machine, eye tracking, heart and breath rate monitors at Siobhan Davies Studios for a contemporary dance performance. 🧠 💃 Neurolive led by Guido Orgs at UCL explores the neuroscience of live events. Lots of interesting implications for experiential brands and place-based events and activations. Paper to follow! #neuroscience #events #placebranding

A few animations we did for East West Rail to communicate the project’s benefits as part of the recent consultation. Great to hear Rachel Reeves supporting this important project. It will be transformative for people and places across the route from Oxford to Cambridge, while providing economic impact for the whole country. #biosciences #jobs #towns

A rich history of transport, manufacturing, and cultural expression. An educational and retail hub. Dynamic businesses large and small. A cosmopolitan community. Stratford is a true representation of our evolving capital city. It’s been a pleasure to help revitalise the BID brand and celebrate heritage the area while reflecting their vision for a global future. Rooting the work in place, we used the distinctive assets and colours of Stratford itself from landmarks like St John’s church to the transport hub connecting thousands every day. Elements that are unique to Stratford and speak to the community. Special thanks to Gianluca Rizzo, Effie Kostopoulou, and Jessica E Dyer.

How are spaces and places responding to macro trends and societal shifts? It was great to host the first round table of our new series. Insightful perspectives and lively discussion fuelled by pizza and Sam Edwards' latest Majestic recommendations. Thanks to all our participants and Mary HarrisHarris for co-hosting! #trends #brandstrategy

As the nights get colder and before we throw ourselves into Christmas, we’re looking back to another glorious summer of activations with Vauxhall One. With 9 sold-out events, the team welcomed over 18,000 smiling faces for movies and mass karaoke with sell-out events and tickets going faster than ever before. We’d like to think that was marketing effectiveness at work, having built up recognition over a number of years with a consistent campaign. It was a pleasure to run the integrated campaigns across Meta, PPC, YT, Out of Home with PR from Nuala Ginty and photography by Neil Massey. These events are integral to a long-term destination strategy and each year we see awareness and positive sentiment for Vauxhall increase. Thanks to Isobel Pickles, Bernard Collier, and Daniel Adusei for a wonderful partnership, and congratulations on a great event season.
