Another announcement from today's Budget related to Capital Gains Tax (CGT). For higher rate tax payers, on assets such as shares, this rate will increase from 20% to 24%. For lower rate tax payers, it will increase from 10% to 18%. Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, has just announced an increase in the Higher Rate for additional dwellings SDLT from 3% surcharge to 5%. This increase is effective from tomorrow.
