This morning, our office cat, Stan Lee (a very proud and rather elderly 15-year-old), achieved something he clearly saw as a major milestone—catching a mouse outside and loudly announcing his success at the office door. Kimberly, usually fearless, was not prepared for this display of feline prowess and promptly shrieked before shutting the door in horror. So, I stepped in, let Stan Lee inside, and gave him the praise he so clearly expected for his “gift” (even though a fresh, albeit very dead, mouse is not exactly what we wanted in the office). Since then, Stan Lee has been strutting around like the ultimate Top Cat, fueled by his newfound confidence—and already on the hunt for his next big win. It got me thinking about leadership and company culture. Too often, small but meaningful achievements go unnoticed because they’re not a game-changing deal or a massive success. But the reality is that every win, no matter how small, builds the foundation for bigger successes. Recognition and encouragement create momentum, inspiring people to push forward and achieve more. So, as leaders, let’s celebrate the small wins—because today’s mouse might just be tomorrow’s big breakthrough. (That said, I really hope Stan Lee doesn’t bring us a rat next time!)

As many of you know, our company founders have been dedicated foster carers for over 15 years and have the privilege of parenting two incredible Vietnamese girls who are now in their late teens. This week, we had the joy of celebrating Lunar New Year—a time filled with tradition, connection, and, of course, amazing food. After a trip to Glasgow’s Vietnamese supermarket, our table was filled with beautifully wrapped, almost-origami-style banana leaf dishes. The air was rich with the aroma of chopped chilies, spring onions, and fish sauce, all coming together to create a vibrant feast. At first, we were a little hesitant—stepping into an unfamiliar culinary world can be daunting. But what we discovered was more than just delicious flavors and textures; it was a journey. For us, it was an exploration of something new. For the girls, it was a taste of home and a connection to childhood memories. Two different journeys, yet they brought us closer together in the most meaningful way. Never resist the unfamiliar, or the experiences you’ve never had—you might just discover something incredible along the way. Wishing everyone a wonderful Lunar New Year! 🏮✨
