BodyWave™ antennas are helping to make industrial environments safer and more efficient. Real-time location tracking and monitoring systems have the potential to reduce accidents, keep workers safe in hazardous environments, and lead to operational efficiencies. However, the integrity of the data required for accurate real-time decision-making depends on uninterrupted, reliable wireless connectivity, despite the typical challenges of the environment in which these systems operate. To discover why manufactures in this sector are incorporating BodyWave™ antenna technology into their wireless products, dive into the report below and learn about: ✔️ The wireless performance requirements for successful system deployment ✔️ The wireless challenges specific to industrial settings ✔️ Limitations of traditional antenna solutions ✔️ Typical performance improvements experienced with BodyWave (Prefer to download as a pdf? Were you in the room for last week's Futuresource Consulting Audio Collaboration event? AntennaWare's Jonny McClintock details his key takeaways below. Is sustainability something you've given much thought to when considering a headphone purchase?
Commercial Director – with focus on commercial growth, scaling both new technologies and companies along with identification and development of talent.
I really liked what Jez Stark of Cambridge Consultants wrote in the aftermath of the recent Futuresource Consulting Audo CoLab event. Many thanks to Jez, Alexander Tschekalinskij and Maurice Moroney for their valuable input on the Connecting the Dots session. Also many thanks to Guy Hammett and Carl Hibbert for the invitation to Chair the panel and I never want to walk past an opportunity to highlight how to improve audio quality and latency of digital wireless audio links. On reflection, I have one big takeaway and was really taken with the Sustainability statements. It seems to be par for the course and accepted behaviour that most people have a myriad of headphones scattered around their homes or stuck away in drawers or worse still are contributing to the millions of devices that are thrown into landfill every year. These headphones have either been superseded with a newer iteration, simply to have the latest style or minimally improved functionality or people have different headphones for different applications. Do regular people generally have different phones, TV’s, cars or PC’s for different applications (I’m willing to concede Gaming on this statement)? There are four horses in this race i.e. system platform suppliers, Product Brands, Consumers and the Planet. The first two players are heavily invested in churn and the rapid refresh rate, the last two pay the price. We are in an era where after-market upgradeability of headphones is possible (I’m calling out CosmOS i.e. the Operating System for the Ear is one example). The pushback is that the upgrades are superficial and that to put more meaningful new features into devices will need a completely new hardware platform. Who control’s this? Well, we’re back to the incumbent Bluetooth wireless vendors. My generation has witnessed the progress from Feature / Dumb to Smart devices in the aforementioned list . I’m hoping that Millennials with a greater social conscience, a healthy appetite for new technology (and have only known smart devices), increasing buying power along with a stronger realization that the planet is in trouble will be willing and able to effect change. All being well the semi-conductor vendors and the Brands will open a path for this upgradeability, to extend the product lifecycle and give the planet a bit of a chance, whilst delivering a new ecosystem of features and applications to service the unmet needs of many end users.
