London, UK, 9th September 2024 Artis, the home of modern trading, announced today a key hire in Michael Giordmaina who joins the company immediately from ICE Data Services, where he has been a senior sales leader for over seven years. A specialist in data proliferation, Giordmaina has been at the forefront of the modernisation of the energy trading ecosystem, bringing ICE data into dozens of financial institutions and trading environments by understanding the use cases and workflows that matter to the energy and commodities industry. Giordmaina’s experience in solution sales, forged over 15 years of direct client relationships in multi-asset financial markets, includes a deep knowledge of data and workflows across front, middle and back office, all of which are critical to the future development of Artis’ core product suite, Artis Works. 📣 XT24 Fintech Conference Highlights 👉 Earlier this month, 13 Engineering Leaders gave 10 incredible talks at JUXT (juxt.pro)’s XT24 Fintech Conference. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll share my insights from each talk ➡️ 💡 Data Collaboration and Price Discovery for the Commodities Market — by Artis Works’s CEO and Co-founder Sebastian Ferraccù, and Lead Engineer Alexander Davis 📈 Seb and Alex demonstrated ‘Artis’, and showed how they have re-imagined the Market Sheet as a high-performance, collaborative application. They gave an insight into what modern commodities trading looks like and showed off how their Artis application aggregates vast amounts of market and derived data, allowing traders to work more effectively. Alex described their architecture and some of the difficult technical challenges they’ve had to overcome in building the application. 🤯 They run over 3.2M calculations on market data in under 100ms, with a UI that is accessible from the web, smartphone app, and Excel, with updates 4 times every second. Incredible.
