Anyone want to lead an exciting new research project in Regen Ag for hops? 🌿 We are thrilled to announce a pioneering new project in collaboration with The Worshipful Company of Brewers, Royal Agricultural University, University of Warwick and Charles Faram & Co Ltd. Hops are a vital ingredient in all beers, but UK hop farmers are under increasing pressure from climate change and more extreme weather patterns, putting hops under strain which increase their vulnerability to disease. With UK hop acreage halving in the last decade and just 45 growers left, we need to find solutions that help turn the tide on this special part of British heritage. To help support the revolution of UK hop growing, two PhD studies (kicking off in January) will look to develop sustainable approaches by increasing resilience to disease, through the tactical wildflower alleyways and the exploration of biochar - an innovative carbon-rich, charcoal-like material. These methods could have multiple benefits: helping the soil hold more nutrients, retain water in droughts, and improve drainage in floods. They may even lock-up more carbon in the soil, thereby helping the industry towards the goal of net zero.  The Universities are now recruiting the PhD students so please share with anyone who might be interested in leading this mission: https://bit.ly/3BVjnWN For more details of the work see our full press release here: https://lnkd.in/eacJJz7C #WeAreAsahi #AsahiUK #Hops #RegenAg #SustainableAg #RegenerativeFarming #BritishHeritage

Director of Sales - Field Operations at Asahi UK

Unrivalled! Officially the very first Field Sales and Draught Technical Operations teams in the UK to complete the WSET’s new Level 1 Award in Beer. Extremely proud of my colleagues at Asahi UK who embraced the challenge, studied in the evenings and around the day job, culminating in the big final exam day. Huge thanks to Natalya Watson and the Wine & Spirit Education Trust team who, alongside Ciara B. delivered an engaging and rewarding experience and supported us through the exam nerves! A qualification from a global leader in drinks education is another huge step in our commitment to continually develop our people at Asahi UK. With unrivalled brands comes an obligation to deliver an unrivalled consultative approach to our customer service in the field and this achievement is fundamental to further developing our expertise. If you are running your own on trade outlet and need support or guidance on commercials, technical issues, delivering premium quality across all touchpoints, operational challenges, category and ranging, understanding your consumer or product and beer styles then you know where we are. #AsahiUK #WeAreAsahi #WSET #drinkseducation

As Japan’s number one beer, Asahi Super Dry believes in challenging conventions and reimagining traditions - in beer, rugby and culture.    The successful partnership with Rugby World Cup will continue through a long-term commitment as Official Beer and Principal Partner of all tournaments until 2029, including Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025 and Australia 2029 as well as Men’s Rugby World Cup Australia 2027.    The three-tournament partnership with World Rugby will see Asahi Super Dry foster a cross-culture activation platform that showcases rugby like never before, bringing intrigue and a fresh perspective to rugby fans around the globe.    Asahi Europe & International CEO Paolo Lanzarotti said: “We are excited to renew our partnership with World Rugby and extend our support of Rugby World Cup. It is particularly exciting for us to support the women’s game, which is going from strength to strength with the global women’s rugby’s fanbase projected to grow by over 70 per cent by 2033. The social occasion of a Rugby World Cup is the perfect platform for the Asahi Super Dry brand and we look forward to offering fans unique opportunities to experience the game like never before.”    #RWC2025 #RWC2027 #RWC2029 #DrinkResponsibly Rugby World Cup World Rugby

Business Data Lead at Asahi Europe & International

Diversity is fun – especially if you work for a brewer with traditions dating back almost 180 years! 🍻 Last week Employee Resource Groups at Asahi UK joined forces and hosted a quiz night at the Griffin Brewery. Held at the atmospheric Hock Cellar, the event tested our colleagues’ general knowledge, awareness of various topics around diversity, and skills at pouring a perfect pint of cask ale. It was a great example of how ‘edutainment’ approach can bring the DE&I agenda to life and help create meaningful connections. My Employee Resource Group, the Global Pints Society, led a geography round (not surprisingly!) during which we tried to bring closer the perspective of foreign nationals working for Asahi in the UK and show how our ERG supports colleagues of various backgrounds. Personal highlight? Seeing terrified faces of our office-based colleagues tasked with pouring a perfect pint of London Pride in the bonus round – we all learned something new that night! #DEI #WeAreAsahi #ERG

We are very excited to introduce a new addition to the distribution fleet, our first fully electric dray. Not only does this mark a significant step on our Net Zero 2040 journey but it will help provide cleaner, quieter streets for communities across London. Check out the short vlog below, from our Sustainability Manager, Sam Goodenough, when he joined it on it's maiden delivery run for #CaskAleWeek. We believe that heritage and legacy go hand in hand and traditional ale delivered in the trucks of the future is a great example of that.
