Absolutely delighted to have extended our partnership with the London Borough of Hackney with a further project award of £28.6M, covering the development, design, installation and ongoing monitoring for the decarbonisation of 17 council owned buildings. This new programme of works will see all 17 buildings being heated from new low carbon heating systems and the permanent removal of all fossil fuel heating use. This will provide annual direct carbon savings of 1,802 tonnes and contribute significantly to meeting Hackneys carbon neutrality goals. Jeremy Martin, Head of Energy and Carbon Management at the London Borough of Hackney said: “‘This further project award underlines the great work that has been delivered by Asset Plus to date and we look forward to continuing this partnership as we strive to decarbonise our property portfolio and meet our carbon reduction commitments.” #Decarbonisation #Hackney #Partnership

🍴 Charity Update - Black Country Food Bank Donations Delivered 🍽   Last week, it was a pleasure for Stuart to drop off all the essentials our business collected over the past few weeks from our Quinton Office.   We are really pleased that we could support this important and much-needed project. STUART HANSON managed to catch up with Keeley Jones , Deputy CEO/Operations Manager, who walked him around the facility.   Stuart was particularly impressed by the project called Can You Cook, where they offer ten recipe cards, each accompanied by cooking instructions and a "how-to" video accessed by scanning a QR code on the front of the card. The ambition of the recipe bag is to use non-perishable food items from within a food parcel to create healthy and nutritious meals, while collaborating with schools and youth groups to develop key life skills.   Over 1000 recipe bags were handed out during 2023, either as a supplement to a food parcel or delivered through projects including: 👉 YMCA, Wrens Nest, running summer cookery sessions. 👉 Holiday Activity Club with the CreArt Community Centre, Dudley. 👉 Destined to Reign Church, Dudley. 👉 Women’s Discovery Group at Top Church Training, Dudley. 👉 Christ Church Primary School, Oldbury.   The Black Country Foodbank mission remains the same as it was in 2006: to help vulnerable individuals and families in crisis through the provision of three days of emergency food supplies while a longer-term solution is developed.   As the autumn and winter months draw in, we are looking to provide further donations, as well as arranging volunteering days in the depot to support the vital work that they do.   Thank you to everyone who donated. #volunteering

As part of our commitment to social value, we have donated several bleed kits that will be strategically placed throughout key areas in Hackney. These kits are registered with emergency services, ensuring that in the event of a catastrophic injury, callers can be swiftly directed to the nearest kit location. Anish P. , Senior Employer Engagement Officer for Hackney Council said "The ongoing partnership with Asset+ has continued to add social value outcomes to the local area, the latest of which is the donation of the bleed kits". This initiative underscores our dedication to both environmental sustainability and community safety. We love hearing about the great volunteering work our teams do in their communities. This week we have been hearing from Julie Skinner, how volunteering at the Lincs Ark Animal Welfare shelter (https://lnkd.in/e4yMMHXg) helped her at the death of her husband. Her sister-in-law encouraged her to join her, as she was already a volunteer, and the rest, as they say, is history! Julie said "I normally go on a Saturday afternoon for three hours and a Tue and Thurs evening for two hours – I do basic things like clean the rabbit runs, groom the rabbits – cut the fresh food for them and generally whatever needs doing… and of course I enjoy all the cuddles with rabbits – its bitter sweet when they get rehomed as you are happy for them but you know you will miss their character – they are all so different" Not only does the Ark benefits from Julies time and cuddles, but through the fantastic JCI MyGiving scheme, she can log her volunteer hours whereby a financial donation will be made to the charity to support the fantastic work they do. #volunteering #animalwelfare #communities
