AssistKD’s Christmas poll has revealed a disturbing truth about #businesschange professionals. They will be (mostly) talking about “Who ate all the Mince Pies” at their Christmas parties. The hot topics of #artificialintelligence, the BA vs. the Product Owner role and #servicedesign were voted for by 22%, 20% and 12% of those surveyed. But ‘Who ate all the Mince Pies’ got 46% of the vote. Perhaps it’s simply your sense of humour. If so, you might appreciate a good old cracker joke... Knock, knock... (Who’s there?) Arthur. (Arthur who?) Arthur any mince pies left?! #HappyChristmas #mincepies

Yesterday, Jo Frances and myself were pleased to host the first ever face-to-face Service Design Forum. The idea for Service Design Forum has come from various conversations with Service Design, Business Analysis and Business Architecture professionals over the past few years. We feel there is a need for an interdisciplinary forum, focussed on Service Design, that provides an opportunity for practitioners to connect, build and share knowledge. As Service Designers, we deliberately decided to start small. Yesterday was a prototype from which we can build, learn and improve. We had lots of fun, built and strengthened connections and covered an array of different topics including: 🎯Sharing why we decided to be part of the forum and our hopes for its future. 🎨Applying ‘Crazy 4s’ (a cut down version of 'Crazy 8s') to generate ideas for a new forum logo. It’s amazing how creative we can be with a blank sheet of paper and a few colourful sharpies! 💡Discussing the definition of Service Design. The core services offered by Service Designers and how they relate to the services of Business Analysts and Business Architects. 🖼 Defining services using a prototype of a new Service Definition Canvas. Founding forum members also shared lightning talks, these included: ⚡️Applying Service Design to Strategy Development. ⚡️The Importance of ‘Quality’ in Service Design. We finished the day by discussing the latest Service Design news and next steps for the future. A huge thanks to Bruce Prendergast Pip Hall Colleen Henderson Nikita Nagpal for all your help and support. If you think you might be interested in future Service Design Forum events, please feel free to send me a direct message to express your interest. #servicedesign #collaboration #businessanalysis #businessarchitecture
