It's important to me I maintain my design practice alongside my academic career but it takes hard work and commitment to balance and sustain both. Today I have been packing up my tea towels for @davidmelloruk featuring my bespoke screen printed patterns that celebrate the Chelsea cutlery designed by Corin and the Pride cutlery by David. My patterns, designed in 2013 & 2015 respectively, pay their respects to the production methods of the beautiful cutlery in the David Mellor factory in Hathersage, Yorkshire. The tea towels are printed and sewn in the UK and include a hand screen printed swing tag made by me. As a huge fan of cutlery in general, David Mellor cutlery specifically & mid-century design aesthetics I'm very proud of this partnership. It feels a long time ago I was talking to Corin to determine the design direction, but these have become my best seller, and reside around the world. Thanks to all who have made a purchase! I look forward to visiting the new DM premises in London but I think my tea towels have got there first! I'm over the moon to share details about my first solo show! I was selected as the 2024 Artist in Residence at Plattform Schmuckkunst in Graz, Austria, for the month of July. It has been an incredibly busy time, bringing to life a project I developed on paper for almost a year. Finally, with the residency, I had the opportunity and time to focus on it. Next Saturday, I will be launching my first solo show with the project 'Never dare I say' at Atelier Schmuckes, Mariahilferplatz 3, 8020 Graz
