With our AGM this evening, and snow briefly on the ground, it is a timely moment to reflect upon the season just past. While our year is sadly coloured by the sad passing of Josh Baker, alongside a number of our Trustees, Life Members and VP's, there have been many high points for us to help us along the way. This year we have proudly become a regional hub for disability cricket led by one of our own - who then led England Womens Disability as Captain in two T20 matches too! Our Women & Girls section continues to advance at pace, with 1XI and 2XI making exceptional starts in their new leagues. In the summer we were privileged and honoured to host two IT20 matches between India and England Mens Deaf Disability Cricket teams. Our small corner of Worcestershire has rarely seen so many cricket fans! We continue to field five highly competitive league sides on a Saturday and Sunday, all of which delivered positive results in a challenging year. Amongst this we saw more players moving up between teams and performing well as they stepped up, and ever more female participation across our league sides than ever before. And perhaps most exciting we again have a veritable army of junior girls & boys, many of which have won places in the Worcestershire County Cricket Club and Warwickshire County Cricket Club pathways. We are blessed with a tenacious group of junior players who we know will continue to add valuable runs, wickets and catches to the junior & senior sides they play in through 2025 and beyond! We would like to thank our sponsors for their support which is integral to these successes. Astwoods Construction Sam Bettridge BA(Hons) FPFS Martin Roche Chris Hancox Rob Lomas Arden Estate Agents
