FARA is pleased to co-host the International Congress for Ataxia Research (ICAR) with Ataxia UK, the National Ataxia Foundation, and the Ataxia Global Initiative and excited to see 600+ ataxia researchers making connections and sharing knowledge. This morning, FARA CEO, Jen Farmer opened day 3 of #ICAR2024 and shared how research is central to the organization's mission. The International Congress For Ataxia Research 2024 in London has been one of the most rewarding and eye-opening conference I have attended! individuals with ataxia and parents of the same were so generous in sharing their journey with me. They highlighted the need to accelerate drug discovery efforts and I am so honoured to be part of such research. My lab presented two bodies of work in collaboration with Bruce Thompson AM, Mirella Dottori and Marek Napierala and we are super excited about the potential of advancing our findings from "bench to bedside"! It was wonderful to catch up with my current and new collaborators too! Congratulations Ataxia UK on such a successful event!

I had the most fantastic time at the International Congress for Ataxia Research (ICAR) 2024. It was a great opportunity to meet other researchers in the field, share my research with others and develop my knowledge within ataxia. Thank you to Ataxia UK, Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA), National Ataxia Foundation (NAF), and Ataxia Global Initiative (AGI) for hosting the ICAR, and thank you to the ICAR for supporting my attendance to the conference. I learned so much and especially enjoyed the animal models vs cellular models debate! #ICAR2024
