We are proud to announce the success of our annual Christmas toy collection, which brought hundreds of toys to families in need this festive season. Thanks to the incredible generosity of local businesses, anonymous donors, the public and our incredible staff who made it all happen. we worked with local charities and foodbanks to ensure these gifts reached those who needed them most. 🚒 Key contributions included: 🎁 Avonmouth Fire Station’s toy donation to the Salvation Army in Pill. 🎁 Patchway’s Business Fire Safety Team delivering gifts to St Chads Church, supported by businesses like Marks & Spencer and a £500 donation from BBC Radio Bristol’s Joe Sims. 🎁 Bath Fire Station’s £7,000 anonymous toy donation, benefiting families via local foodbanks. 🎁 Southmead Fire Station partnering with the Greenway Centre. 🎁 Weston-super-Mare Fire Station, with Winscombe’s support, donating toys to Weston Foodbank. At Avon Fire & Rescue Service, we’re proud to announce an innovative partnership between Bedminster Fire Station and The Heart of BS13. This community composting initiative is transforming how we handle food waste by turning it into nutrient-rich compost. With food waste contributing 6% of global greenhouse gas emissions, projects like this are critical for reducing methane and improving soil health.
