This farmer gave me the opportunity to execute his first-ever greenhouse coloured capsicum project. It consisted of two units, each measuring 30m by 16m. The crops were transplanted in October 2023, started harvesting in March 2024, and were harvested continuously for eight straight months, concluding in November 2024. The farmer was so satisfied that he trusted me with a new establishment, this time involving everything from seed sourcing to propagation, transplanting, and crop protection and nutrition management. What is particularly intriguing about this project is that it is taking place deep in South Kinangop. While many farmers are abandoning agriculture due to poor prices for common crops like cabbage and potatoes, this farmer made the bold decision to diversify and is proud of his venture into farming.
