Continuing with our employee spotlight, this week we have Meg, our Head of Finance and Administration. She is the backbone of Bartec's financial control and all the things that keep our business ticking! "Hi, I'm Meg, I've been with Bartec since early 2022. Since joining the company I have been studying towards becoming ACCA qualified and also expanding my sustainable and social value reporting knowledge. The gym is my 'happy' place but I enjoy anything that involves moving. I have completed 30 of the 205 Lake District Wainwrights to date, the Jersey Island challenge twice and am 537.85 miles into The Wrong Long Way. I'm a big foodie, I love tracking down amazing bakes and burgers. When I do sit still I like to play games, read or build Lego."

At Bartec, we’re proud to employ over 50 people on our team. We thought it would be good to introduce some of them! Let’s kick things off with our amazing Chief Operating Officer, Kate. She plays a crucial role in our Projects and Integrations team. "I’m Kate and I’ve been with Bartec for 17 years. I have 2 girls age 17 and 22. I spend a lot of time in wellies thanks to our 3 dogs, chicken and a horse. If I find some spare time I enjoy open water swimming, mooching round charity shops, and escape rooms. I also run online sobriety support groups and volunteer for Olio redirecting surplus food from waste. My favourite author is Marian Keyes and my favourite snack is Pringles. I dislike intolerance, coffee and housework."

We are pleased to announce that two more councils have joined us this week, as they grow their commercial waste businesses. South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridge City Council will use Collective to manage operations and to give their customers direct access to their services via the Collective Business Portal. The four year contract is the result of a joint procurement between the two councils.
