Basalt Infrastructure Partners ("Basalt") announces signing of an agreement to add a newbuild LNG Carrier into the Vanadis LNG platform Funds advised by Basalt announce that an agreement has been signed to add a modern newbuild 180,000 CBM LNG carrier into its Vanadis LNG platform. The addition brings the Vanadis platform to a total of three vessels and demonstrates successful delivery of Basalt’s strategy to add further scale and new charter relationships to its fleet. The vessel is expected to be delivered during 2027 and will be employed on a long-term, fixed time charter to Japanese energy company, JERA Co., Inc. This investment brings together existing operating partners and counterparties with an exceptional track record of delivery. The vessel will be built at Samsung Heavy Industries, one of the world’s leading shipyards and will be equipped with the latest X-DF propulsion system, offering industry-leading fuel efficiency and associated low emissions. The vessel will be managed and operated by Celsius Shipping, Basalt’s existing operating partner across its Vanadis and Freyja LNG portfolios. Basalt expects to continue to grow the Vanadis LNG fleet over the coming months. John Hanna, Partner and Head of Europe at Basalt commented, “we are delighted to continue our successful partnership with Celsius with the addition of what will be Basalt’s sixth newbuild LNG vessel. We continue to view LNG as an important transitional fuel and key to supporting security of supply in global energy markets."

What an event! Basalt held its 3rd Annual ESG Forum last week, welcoming ESG leads from across the portfolio to the London office and online, bringing representatives from 20 portfolio companies together. We had case studies from EnviroSpark Energy Solutions, Nobina Group, Reconor Group, IMS - Integrated Materials Solutions, FORTBRAND SERVICES LLC and Xpress Natural Gas, as well as hearing from Katie Ahmed and John Hanna from Basalt, Myles Tatlock and Zara de Belder from Anthesis Group, and Charlie Mahoney from Novata. Both the New York and London teams at Basalt Infrastructure Partners have been busy in September using their volunteering days to help good causes. The New York team volunteered with Prospect Park Alliance, a non-profit organisation that partners with the City of New York, to sustain, restore, and advance Prospect Park (Brooklyn’s flagship park which receives more than 10 million visits each year). The London team spent a day at Honor Oak Adventure Playground with London Play Design. They were busy repairing bridges, floorboards and joists, saving nearly £3,000 in labour and materials, and benefitting over 140 children who visit the project each week. Katie Ahmed, Basalt's ESG Manager, said "It's a fantastic opportunity to get the team outside together to do something different and help the local community, as well as getting to know each other's unknown skills - thank you to all who attended".
