Project Completion - IQRA Primary School, Lambeth 🎉 It's amazing to see the impact a new school can have on a community, and we are honoured to be able to deliver such a project for IQRA Primary School and the Department for Education. With this being Baxall's first Islamic faith school, tailoring the building to the End User's needs was an education for us in itself, and so very rewarding to be a part of IQRA's journey. Beginning in a town house, now to the Outstanding 1FE School that it is today, this project is certainly one with meaning. We are delighted with the feedback from the School - "The atmosphere in the classrooms is calm and purposeful, with children fully engaged in their learning. We are particularly excited about the large playground, which provides plenty of space for the children to play, the new wudu facilities, a spacious hall and the new library, where a world of books awaits them. Our new building is truly stunning." We'd like to say a huge thank you, well done and congratulations to all involved who made this project such a success! Our Christmas Appeal 🎁 We're continuing to support local food bank charities in London and the South East, with the addition this year of Compaid. Compaid Trust are our neighbours and help disabled, elderly and vulnerable people to overcome the barriers of social, digital and economic exclusion. For those of you that kindly send in gifts, we would very much appreciate it if you could make a monetary donation to our Christmas Fundraiser instead, please. We can then distribute this equally between all charities. Any gifts received will be raffled to staff, with the proceeds added to this cause. It would be fantastic to match or even beat the £2,000 that was raised last year. Thank you all in advance - We hope to make a difference this Christmas and support those less fortunate than us. Education Estates 2024 We were thrilled to have attended the Education Estates® Exhibition | Conference | Awards 2024 in Manchester last month. Contracts Director Stuart Hardie, Technical Manager Matthew Barker, Framework and Pre Construction Manager Selena Stray and Senior Estimator Richard Fairhall had a great couple of days building on our current relationships and making new, valuable connections too. With such a wide range of seminars and excellent speaker sessions held, it was a very insightful and informative couple of days. Supporting EKC Folkestone College 🧱 We're delighted that the surplus bricks we had from our project at St Mary's School in Deal has been able to help the local college with their Brickwork Apprenticeships. Approx. 3,000 bricks were donated for the students to use for their assessments and projects. A huge thank you to BIRD GROUNDWORKS & DEMOLITION LTD for delivering these bricks to the college yesterday. They are delighted to have received them, and it was great to see the students get stuck in with the unloading too! Industry Liaison Officer Heather Williams said that Ross Bird and Tom Goodsell were fantastic, they were really patient with the students and gave them further knowledge on ground works as they answered questions relating to their career paths.
